My chat's transparent and not turning back to normal

So I changed my settings a while back to have transparent chat messages, but I want normal chat background back now. Even with these settings https://imgur.com/a/IrTnESxIt's still transparent:

And the same thing happens even with the chat mod disabled completely.
How do I fix this and bring back the grey background?

Hello,The chat settings that you had opened were for old Minecraft chat.
Are you using the new or old chat? You can check if you have enabled the new chat in Badlion Client 'OTHER' settings (ESC -> 'Badlion Client Settings' -> 'OTHER' (it is located at the top)).

So, disabling the "new chat" lets me control the old chat using the chat mod correctly.Is there, however, a way to control the new chat somehow? I like the new format, and all I want is a background colour…is it at all possible?

Yes, there is a way to change the opacity for the new chat.
