How do I create an account for my son?
I don't play MineCraft but I had to create an account just so I could log in here and post this message.
Surely I do not simply let him use my account??
I'm sure that must be against some rule somewhere….
So how does it work as he has his own Minecraft account …?
I just find it strange he can have his own Minecraft account but not setup as a child under or with parent authorisation….???
Appreciate some constructive / useful advice.

PS I did search the forums and found nothing specifically relevant.

It's not against rules. You can share it with others but You need to acknowledge that Your account is under Your responsibility.
