Ye joined back in Jan/Feb last year to practice for a faction server i played on with @SuperSpeedTry harded for mod for like 6 months, got denied twice. Then faction's came around and @freekkiller (bae) let me in his faction, making me active and helping my chatmod application considerably. i got chatmod for around 4 months (Best mute record ftw) before getting trial (Thanks to @Pikaoku) and got promoted to full mod on factions. after i completed trial i got Warden, banned people, banned them again for ban evading, banned them again for ban evading etc etc.
Recruited @MaccaTacca @XEW and pop321 as chatmods, Disappointed the administration greatly (not going into detail) and resigned 1 month later. My time here has been great, the administration really care for their staff and give help whenever it is asked for. If it wasn't for pikaoku, i wouldn't be in the position i am right now, great guy.
also became friends with a faggot known as pokenick <3

I played on a factions server with me & a mate. We was known for being one of, if not the best on the server. One day a couple of other people came on & half of chat thought they were hackers & half the chat thought they were the best pvp'rs in the world. Anyway I became friends with them & they showed me badlion & kohi. I tried both servers and badlion had people who would shit on me. I played kohi as it was easier & at this time I couldn't hotkey, I relied totally on aim & still dominated most people. In one of the ./anon fights I lost & then the person I lost to messaged me saying I had potential & told me how to circle strafe & other stuff. Soon after I joined badlion, I started learning to hotkey & reached I think 1800 in Vanilla ladder. I played FFA alot & met new friends & have loved badlion since. The badlion standard has sort of ruined me to the point where I expect nothing less on any server & thats why I am still here. I was thinking about making a thankyou thread the other day for the new Gcheat as the amount of people it bans is amazing! :) One thing I would like to ask is if we are allowed to report someone on the forums without video evidence to compare against logs, or if we can report someone we think is hacking & getting away with it to help improve Gcheat.
One suggestion I do have for potpvp is to add custom kits for wars, wars use to be one of my favourite things, but I use a different kit for them compared to the 1v1 ladders. Same goes with LMS & FFA, Vanilla FFA just isn't the same with the new map & non custom kits. Everyone loved the seperate chat aswell, but I don't think thats gunna be reimplemented.
Thankyou Badlion :)

The first time I joined and played Badlion was so long ago I can barely even remember the spawn. There was no hub, no other servers, just Badlion PotPvP. I didn't play very much but I played enough to start tuning up my PvP skills. At that time I played a Factions pvp server that I miss dearly. After that factions pvp server closed I made my own server. That server ran for seven months and I was offered more learning opportunities that I could ever have wanted at the time. I learned how to code plugins using a alternative to java, I learned how to use vps's to run teamspeak, minecraft, websites, and more. During my free time on that server I pvped. I was always a big fan of SoupPvP and spent most of my time there. After my server I started playing Badlion full time and started talking to people on the server who I ran into often. I became great friends with @Arcanex and he is who inspired me to apply for Mod back in late July or early August. When I was promoted I spent most of my time on the Soup server, naturally, where I became good friends with some of the regulars there at that time including @McNerdx and @BurntCactus who taught me most of the tips and information I still know and use today. I eventually broadened my horizons and spent more time on Potion where staff were more needed where I got to know a lot of the other staff. Around two months later I had joined some random faggot on Factions. I think his name was cringiecock or cringiecake or something stupid like that. He got me into factions and I later applied and was accepted as a Factions Moderator. I modded Factions for a month before I realized I really wasn't enjoying playing but moderating only. Because of that I joined @cringiecake as a Warden, and worked as one until Factions closed. At the end of September I also became a UHC Host and really enjoyed working with Burnt and the Twitch streamers. I was a UHC host for about three months before school hit me hard and I started to become inactive. I realized I didn't have enough time to run UHCs so I resigned then. From then on I have been back to where I was as a sole KitPvP Moderator, but with much more experience behind me. I still love playing and modding Badlion. It' hard not to with the amazing staff and Administration at your side all the time. Badlion never ceases to amaze me. In two days, on the 10th I will have been a Badlion Mod for half a year. I'm glad to have the opportunity to be a part of Badlion and hope I have more good stories to tell of experiences on Badlion.Posted on 08 February 2015 - 05:01 PM
i joined back in march of 2014 i think, and there was only about 400-500 people on at once. since ive been staff that number has increased 5 times to get the record for most players on at once. its been cool to see the server grow even though im not an old timer here.Posted on 08 February 2015 - 05:01 PM

I would type out my life story on Badlion, but not really in the mood so I'll keep it short.I started out as a reckless little scrub on Potion. Not really a ranked 1v1 guy, but mainly an FFA type of dude. I've been playing on Badlion since October, 2013 and had no friends then. I went on to do some 1v1s and such, but never actually spend at most 30 minutes on there. Then, Badlion had an huge update after the other and that was when I started to partake in FFA vanilla. And this was around late December, if not early January. From then on, I've met @*deleted-7804, @BurntCactus, and @Haanit and many more *grabs tissue, the feels*. Everytime when school ended, I would hop on Badlion and spend 2-4 hours daily on Potion FFA. I was called a hacker many times and one day this cactus dude was interfering with my PvP montage spectating me whilst I pvp. There was a bug with the spectate mode and you can see the person spectating you or flying around. So I immediately toggled off my click aimbot, ff, kill aura, timer, noslowdown, speed, criticals, derp, xray, autoclicker, macros, nuker, tracer, nametags, noknockback, teleporter, regen, noswing, fasteat, fastbow, glide, step, sneak, and jesus. But in all seriousness, that was how I first met Burnt.
On to the important stuff that some of you might want to know. How the hell did some random get staff and I didn't? Honestly, the thought of being part of the staff team came to mind when I first got banned for suspicious use of click aimbot and ff. No, I did not use click aimbot nor ff, or any hacked client in general. The mod who banned me (not saying who) banned me off the facts that there were five or more reports on me (according to the mod). I immediately panicked and appealed right away (no link to appeal for you). The system has really changed since back then. I wasn't unbanned due to the lack of evidence from the mod, but because the mod felt like it. Anyways, moral to the story is that I was banned for false hackusation and was unbanned because I led the mod beat me in a 1v1 on Kohi.
I completely went off track about the question about my staff rank. So after my unban, I decided that I should try for staff and help out in the community. To be honest, I "tried" for application and didn't really had high hopes of become a mod or even a trial. 1-2 weeks later, I received an invitation in my Skype from ginie and I didn't know who he was. I only thought that Archy or Gberry would've contacted me because those were the only admins, that I knew, on Badlion. *Sorry Ginie, I should've greeted you better not knowing I was getting trial.* I was so surprised I made it and honestly didn't believed it. As a trial, I didn't much but mute and watch the chat as well as recording hackers and such. A week or two later, I got full moderator and I was one joyful scrub. I continued to use my powers for good, banning, muting etc. There was a time when I broke down from all the stress moderating on Potion. I'm not going to go into much details and the cause of that, but it was tough. I looked up to Gberry, Archybot, Ginie, and the rest of the admins and what they have done for the server.
Remembered when I said I was a Potion FFA regular? Well, that changed completely when I got staff especially full mod. Instead of 2-4 hours after school on Badlion potion FFA, I'm spending that time on my moderating. I had my own little schedule where if the average server population is down by 50% (so if normally there are 300 players and 150 are currently online), I would enjoy my time in Potion FFA like I normally would before I got moderator. It was usually at night when the population is low and I would get around an hour or so in pvping before I would have to go. I really enjoyed moderating and keeping chat stable. There were times when I was criticized and even put down because of what I did. I was called a "sh*tty mod", "careless staff", and many other discourteous comments. Anyways, Badlion has grown from having around 150 players daily to having 800 players on and still growing!
So, here I am. Oh, and Senior Mod? I'm still not sure why I'm chosen or maybe there was an annual raffle to choose the next Senior Mod. On a serious note, when I saw I got Senior Mod, I was so shocked and it really blew my mind. I was honored to received the title and the rank. Whatever is the case, I'm working harder everyday to keep the community centered and fun so that everyone on the server may enjoy what the developers, administrators, and owners have gifted us with, Badlion. Happy Birthday Badlion.

Because it seems like everyone else is writing stories, I think I should do one too.I first joined Badlion when HCF was running on map 10. I logged on with my factionmate Pikaoku (<3) who i had met a week or 2 ago. I was given the Badlion mumble IP and i met Archy for the first time. I started hanging out with the Badlion faction players and played CivCraft with them.
One day i hear Archy speak something about needing more people to moderate on Badlion. I decide to take my chance and yell at Archy for around a minute to give me mod (This is how moderators applied back in the day). I became the first Trial moderator ever, somewhere between September and October. Got mod a couple weeks later and time went on and the server just kept growing and new people came and old people went away.
Somewhere during summer the Sr.Mod was added and me, viprite, falcon and qazzy were the original group of Sr.Mods. The server just kept growing and growing even more. Some people left and again new people came.
I took a break from Badlion during Christmas and shortly came back a bit later.
These 1.5 years have been great. Its been a pleasure to be part of helping the server to grow up and be part of the staff. I've met people that I can call friends and I hope that the server will keep on growing even more.

In regards to the straw polls, I feel potion pvp might need to be pvp1/pvp2/eu1. Keeping the caps at 600 for perfectly smooth gameplay. Never merge soup into pot pvp, soup does have the potential to grow as it's own server in the future. UHCs are just continually growing, I think there should be smaller automatic games that work similar to the SG setup. Maxing out at 75-120 players. Now, since everyone else is sharing their stories I'll share mine. I started Minecraft long ago on a smaller server, as that server kept going on and off of activity I would adventure onto different servers, after years of this process I found Badlion through a friend back in late January/early February of last year. I always thought I was a pretty badass pvper, got on badlion, pvped my friends, was still pretty great. Tried a game of ranked and got ABSOLUTELY DESTROYED. From this moment I started playing Badlion day after day to practice my pvp skills. I joined FFA which is where I met a few friends. I was one of the best in FFA making my way to 1500 kills. Then @McNerdx randomly appeared one day teaming with the infamous BeakTrots. McNerdx destroyed me every time I kept targeting him. He would kill me, I'd pearl back to him, die. So I did spectate him and watch him for hacks, even making my way into his pvp montage lol. Eventually as time went by I got bored of Potion FFA and soup was released. Once again I no lifed the server, but here is where I learned the true annoyance of hackers. I was staff on a server before, but it took me 3 years to get it, so I had no intentions of applying on Badlion when I had only played a few months. I got active on the Badlion forums which is where I grew fond of the way the Development team worked. Every time I posted a bug or suggestion it was looked into/fixed. As with other servers they just blow it off.
So time went by and I became more and more active on the server/forums. I started posting ban reports daily as the hackers flooded into soup pvp. I did this for my own personal satisfaction, because I knew If I didn't report them I'd see them online the next day still hacking up a storm. I've never been a toxic person, but I've always been willing to voice my opinion, and back then I was rather annoyed with the mods as I felt they didn't do their jobs. Which after time this was proven correct as several of them were removed from the staff team. However I was still ignorant on the subject as I didn't know just how much mods had to deal with. So one day I was playing on soup when I saw a rather toxic/tryhard player get trial mod, and I was like "Well what the hell, I guess I'll send in an app". There was actually a bit of distrust with me from the staff team, as my random activity confused them. I actually owe @Viprite for clearing the confusion and vouching for me. ComboDombo had also confronted the staff team about hiring me, although we haven't always been on good terms, he's a pretty cool kid, and I'd like to thank him for my success as well. Anyway, trying not to release staff related stuff into this story I'll continue on. So I got trial moderator, which I quickly got promoted through submitting 50+ reports in a few days and the fact that Gberry was annoyed with the lack of staff when the server was growing. So I got full moderator which is where I put a hold on my pvp skills and started removing hacker after hacker. I started using the Badlion mumble which is where I became friends with the senior moderators and admins. I quickly earned trust and any distrust there was, was quickly removed.
So after time of me doing nothing but whoring the forums and banning hackers daily I was promoted to Senior Mod. Senior meaning higher authority mod, not long time mod. So as a smod I unintentionally stole a lot of the other Smods jobs by handling the majority of appeals that required Smods. Don't have much to say in regards to me being a smod, so through time and activity and my huge interest in Badlion UHCs I was promoted to Admin. Through this I was given a great opportunity, I worked hand and hand with countless well known youtubers and players. I created a list of rules which you still see used today. I got to deal with the experience of hiring/firing staff onto a 2,000 player network. Pretty important job, but this is where I learned my biggest weakness as an admin. I couldn't fire people, was possibly the hardest thing I've ever had to attempt to do on the internet. Well as an admin I of course made friends and enemies, I would hope to think I made more friends. Although I would consider most of you my acquaintances and my true friends being the administration team. However as time went by the stress of my job kept piling up and up. I was starting to let others thoughts cloud my judgement. I made mistake after mistake eventually leading to my downfall. I quit my position in a moments notice.
I would like to say I regret my actions, but the only thing I regret is the manner of which I left. When I left I had hoped to come back in the future, but at the moment I'm not sure If I could handle the job, and of course, I don't think I'd return to my position as an admin. Maybe in the future I'll come back as regular mod or Smod. I am very grateful for the experience Badlion has offered me, and some of the things I've learned from the position will help guide me better in the future. So as of lately, I log onto the server and I play SG/UHC/2v2s with a good friend of mine. I have players constantly PMing me to join back as staff, and some players who laugh at me. Overall Badlion is a wonderful server, and I'd like to think with my time as admin I helped grew it to what it is today. Badlion will keep growing and flourishing, and I have no intentions of leaving Badlion. Happy 2nd birthday, I look forward to celebrating the third. :)

I remember when this sort of stuff was going on, you weren't having a great time but you were always on, constantly moderating. I admired you for that.
Now for my story! I'll keep it short since the details are pretty dull.
I joined badlion around a year ago. I didn't really see anything of it. I just joined because I heard a few friends had recently gotten trial moderator here and it's a really good server. I played a little bit and had fun. I kind of laid off for a few weeks then I returned and was having more fun than ever. I was ignoring oc.tc and going on every day to play badlion.
I became incredibly active and I became quite involved with the OCN ladder. I had 1000 matches at the end of a season I joined half way through. Eventually I took my ELO quite seriously and got a little mad when I lost. A few times I was rude to players (KaeuliFlower being one of them, even though he was mod). I didn't really see anything of it since I knew I wasn't stepping over the line. I tended just to bitch about people blockhitting / straightlining. Realized after a while what a little shit I was being to players so I quietened down a bit.
About 2-3 months after I joined for the first time, badlion stepped it up a notch. They got a sweet new potion setup, new spawn, a bunch of new staff, the lot. I took it upon myself to apply for staff. I applied, and after about a week I got trial. I was obviously buzzing about this, since this was the biggest server I had ever been a part of a staff team in. For about a week I went all out on chat, racking up a bunch of mutes. 1 week later I was promoted to full mod.
2 or so weeks later (May 23rd if I remember correctly), badlion factions 2.0 opened up. I was a noob and I applied for freekkiller's faction "Destiny". I got into the faction and it was incredibly fun. Pikaoku had announced that moderators could have factions mod if they asked and were active. I asked pika and he handed me over the permissions.
I continued to play factions from there and try help around as much as possible. For a while I was incredibly active, racking up a lot of mutes and a hell of a lot of playing time.
Over the past few months I've had spurts of activeness/inactiveness. Unfortunately, I cannot help this since sometimes IRL > lego pvp. But, after 9 months, I'm still here :) I hope to stay mod for a while longer and help the community as much as I can. I've been here for 9 months or so without being demoted once (somehow) and I hope to make it a lot longer.
Thanks for putting up with me admins + seniors <3

I remember when I 1v1'ed pmheys one day, at the quartz spawn, where you saw Gberry and Archy's heads. I also remember playing Archer FFA on the sand map. When I first joined Badlion, it was known as a faction on HCF, not as a server. This server was at that time a server for people in the Badlion faction to practice on. It was kindly opened up by Archybot (then known as MrArchy) for other factions to also practice on. Normally, there'd be a max of 4 or 5 people online, and on rare occasions, there'd be maybe 10. It was all public plugins, and Archy paid for it all himself. The staff team then was just people from the Badlion faction that Archy trusted enough to moderate the server. Eventually, around the time when the spawn was made of quartz and the different parts of the server were in the four corners (oc.tc practice, arenas, kit creation, and maybe creative? I've forgotten….) Flint_Lock (a fellow Badlion faction member) and started making nether portal traps (the kind where you can't do anything and just have to quit out of Minecraft) way out in the creative world. Since he didn't have mod at that time, he'd teleport cheaters he found (Badlion faction members had /tp perms back then) into the traps to deal with them. I thought it was a good idea, so I started doing it too. A little while after that, I thought that I may as well just ask Archy to make me a moderator, so that I wouldn't have to go to the trouble of /tp-ing people around. One morning when I woke up, I sent a skype message to Archy that said something like "can I have mod on badloin I wanna help catch cheaters". He never answered the message, and instead kicked me from the server. When I logged back in, I saw that I now had a mod tag, and was greeted with a /msg from Archy telling me to get in mumble. I went in mumble, and was greeted by a sleepy Archy who'd just woken up. He told me that he was too tired to teach me how to use most of the mod stuff, so he explained the basics really quickly and then went back to sleep. By this time, Badlion's community had grown. 10-20 people were regularly online, and if we got really lucky we would sometimes have almost 30 people online all at the same time! The staff team back then consisted of (forgive me if I forgot anyone): MrArchy, Qazzy1122, Speidy, UnPhair, MK325, Eum3, Dragonbeamz, daeshik, ginie1, Kreepoz, HattoWolf (I think), Nala4008, the somewhat newly modded Flint_Lock, and the two brand new mods: Pikaoku and me (JacobArnold)! A bit before Pika and I were modded, if I remember correctly, a racist fellow named Guru_Fraser was named a developer of some new plugins for Badlion. He was a dev for a month or two, and then he went inactive. He was replaced by the now legendary MasterGberry, our savior. I wasn't sure what to think of MasterGberry at first, but I decided I liked him the day he banned Daeshik from the mumble for "being a little bitch" (or something like that) and made Daeshik pretty much beg to get unbanned. Once MasterGberry joined, the server started growing faster than ever. 50 people online at peak times was not uncommon a little bit after Gberry's arrival. With a population that big (50 people holy shit!) we needed more moderators, especially since Eum, Dragon, and Speidy barely ever got on the server any more. We picked up a player named Lonerx4 at some point, but it wasn't until later that we got our first ever batch of "trial mods". In this first batch of trials were people such as _iFalcon_, shortbus (he banned me because I killed him), winwreck, billahh (I think) the much hated Viprite, and possibly one or two more that I've forgotten. Some of them (falcon, viprite) turned out great, and others (shortbus, winwreck) are currently banned for hacking after they got de-modded for abusing their powers. As the server continued to grow, we got even more mods. The next 1 or 2 batches of trials included asianapple, Varicks, chubbymoose, Niquex (I think. He may have been a bit later though), and some others who I've sadly forgotten. As new mods joined, older mods began to drop. Speidy, UnPhair, MK, Eum, and Dragon were all de-modded around this time, and all the rest of the mods from when I joined (save ginie and archy) were eventually de-modded. At one point in this era, I was known as one of the community's favorite mods, mostly because I always talked a lot in chat, and knew almost everyone who played on the server fairly well. Back then, all the players all knew each other, because the player-base was so small. I'm not sure exactly when it happened, but eventually the server's population started growing really fast, and we started to regularly have over 100 people online at a time. From then until now has been a blur. I've gone through periods of inactivity, but I've still stuck around, and I can now proudly say that I have watched the growth of the server since almost the very beginning, and that I've watched the acceptance of every member of our current staff team (except for Ginie and Archy), and watched the team grow into the great team it currently is. Our community is completely different now (with 2127 people online as I type this) than it was with 5, 20, or 50 people, but it's still a great community (for the most part), and one that I want to stick around in for at least a little while longer!Last thing I want to say is that the admins really care. @Archybot and @MasterGberry work their asses off to provide you all this great server. @ginie1 is in charge of the KitPvP part of Badlion, which is the biggest part, and he does a fantastic job with it. @Pikaoku has the best accent of all the admins, and his ideas and motivation for factions have led to and will continue to lead to great factions servers here on Badlion.
This server is the best, and it has been the best for 2 years now.
