So, uh… my story. yes. ok.

I added Badlion to my server list a long while back, after hearing about it being a dedicated potion pvp server, etc. I’m pretty sure I finally logged in somewhere in late August or early September. It was a pretty fun server that I’d play on every now and then. I wasn’t really super active, as I played on Project Ares far more at the time. I joined the forums later in December, but I was pretty scared of being a regular when posts like this (https://www.badlion.net/forum/thread/2045) were everywhere. so yes I stuck to the overcast way

Eventually, I joined an Overcast team called Game Mode 1, which had close ties to Badlion (an admin, a mod and some retired mods). I started playing on Badlion more and more often. This was also when I realized that I had only 10 ranked matches to play with. I complained about it in the Game Mode 1 Skype chat, going on about how I’d be really high in the archer ladder with unlimited ranked and such. Flint_Lock then told me to apply for mod, since I’d get unlimited ranked that way.

So, uh… yeah. I applied for mod to get those unlimited ranked matches. After a while, ginie messaged me and asked if I was interested in trial. So, yeah, another randy mod joined the staff team. Pretty exciting stuff, being a trial alongside old Badlion mods and renowned players. I eventually got mod after 19 days of being a trial.

Over a period of time, I got to know a lot of the staff members and started to get comfortable with banning, muting and such. Something to note here is that I added two people on Skype from the staff team. That was Varicks and BurntCactus, the two mods that I saw most often and thought I’d eventually talk to most.

Varicks didn’t like me for a while, thinking I’d only gotten mod through connections (which was very true) and was only in it for the unlimited ranked matches (which was also very true). I was also pretty guilty upon seeing that our admins genuinely cared about this server and didn’t do it for profits. When I joined the server, it averaged around 20-30 players (I believe), and seeing it become a 1000-2500 player server is really quite a feat. The admins gave me my rank so that I’d help them out. While I first joined for the ranked matches, given this motive, I actually started to moderate more. Eventually, I really got into it and stopped caring about playing after a while. I’d play occasionally, but applying for mod means that I’m willing to give up my playing time to help people out.

So, yes. I became a decent moderator. Something to note was that I got really obsessed with my post count, so I became a ban appeal guy. ya, that’s why I have 4000 posts now.

Also just realized that looking at the staff list, it looks like I’m an older mod now. Huh, 3/5 of the senior mods got mod before me, and 4/38 of the moderators got mod before me.

Never would have thought I’d be here after a year and a half of being a player and being a moderator for a bit over 10 months. That’s pretty cool.

I don't have really a good story about how I came to join Badlion but here it is. Basically in the summer of 2013 I started straying away from Call of Duty and started playing Minecraft a bit more with some friends. I found a server called MineAge and from that server I found a youtuber with roughly 100 subs at the time, PainfulPvP. I never really knew the extent of what PotionPvP could be until I watched his videos and thought, "Wow that's really cool." I didn't even really know what Minecraft pvp was. I saw him play on Badlion, and decided to try it out for myself. All I know is I was terrible and didn't even know what ranked and all that stuff was, I just went to the warps such as the desert and practiced there with friends.

I played minecraft on and off, most of my days focused towards school and sports, and most of my free time playing CoD. It wasn't until The summer of 2014 I became fairly active on Badlion as a player. One day Gberry was asking for help with some MCSG questions and I don't know if he remembers but I remember answering questions regarding fishing pole KB etc. From that moment on I wanted to help badlion in anyway I could, uploading the on occasion a hacker report here and there. I applied for staff the first time somewhere in the beginning of the summer in 2014, and didn't receive any sort of response.

It wasn't until I saw that badlion was going to start hosting UHC's again, and i knew that was something I could do. UHC was the main thing that got me into minecraft, me and my friends were fans of the Mindcrackers, watching every single UHC they ever played, and we played often as well. I still remember my first badlion UHC hosted by Chubbymoose. I applied, and although I had little experience was added as a badlion UHC host sometime in July. I remember I was terrified to host a UHC and the first game I ever hosted was a 250 man all alone during one of Dfield's streams. Obviously I fucked it up somehow but Burnt helped me through all the games I screwed up and I remember basically being the only host besides Burnt until Pokenick and Slutty were added. Shortly after that I applied for moderator and got the job. I was ecstatic to finally be a part of the community, and to this day still have no idea how I became a mod/host.

I want to thank Archy and Gberry for all the hard work they've put into Badlion. It's nice having server owners that actually care, and thank you guys for giving me a chance. Happy birthday to the Badlion Network . :P

I've been part of this network since the start and I'm really happy on how it's going atm. I'm not good with words, so instead I'm just going to post pictures of good moments I've had with the people from Badlion.

I came from this place called Overcast Network (OCN) where I met people like Hivlik, OllieGamerz, Arcanex, Ginie, and others and everyone over there came here to practice their PvP skills so I decided to check it out and thought I could improve my skills but apparently that hasn't happened xD

I first learned about Badlion during my early HCF days. In map 8 I was invited to do eotw with strawhats, and that's where I met gtwillwin, mikebain, and many others, thus starting my true hcf life. Map 9 I was invited to help officer TheXyrin's faction (badlion's subfaction) and was always on their mumble and such. I've been a part of the server ever since and am glad that I could do the little service I have contributed. The administration, development team, and moderation are all probably the best in the minecraft community, and I am glad that I've been a part for as long as I have.
