In 3.0, proj prot armor was introduced in the DiamondOCN queue. It wasn't always like this (I'm 99% sure). Even against standard diamond armor, bow is pretty limited in terms of it's usually a half heart to one heart a shot, depending on power. ProjProt makes it half a heart or even less sometimes and I feel like it's nerfing the bow too much. Sometimes if you get yourself combo'd, you need that alternative available, to hit a few bow shots then hopefully get a combo yourself.I think it should just be standard Diamond armour, no enchants necessary.

I would say have half the armor as ProjProt and the other half unenchanted. I do miss the bow doing damage in DOCN but at the same time, its better so people won't bow spam.Posted on 08 February 2015 - 07:47 PM
Diamond OCN shouldn't even have proj 1. But w/e people want all melee ladders yet we already have like 5.Posted on 08 February 2015 - 07:58 PM

I like how the proj prot really helps differentiate it from iron ocn. Also, it's the best pure sword ladder there is currently. (Plenty of other ladders are sword heavy, but also have a lot of ither things like potions or buffs/debuffs that add depth but take away from the basic sword aspects)Posted on 08 February 2015 - 08:54 PM

I agree in some respect. But as said previously, even with regular diamond armor bow did very little. Before 3.0 DOCN was the exact same raw sword ladder, but now the bow (which is only useful in some situations) is effectively rendered useless. May aswell stick them out with a sword only

The bow is currently used mainly to set up combos and break enemy combos. There aren't really any other ladders that use the bow solely for that. If it was the exact same raw sword ladder, then what's the point of changing it back? It's a nice break from the other non-potion ladders, which are mostly bow centered. All the "Sword ladders" other than this are all pot pvp (Gapple being exception), so what's the point in making the bow more prevalent? What do we gain?

I like it how it is now. It would be too similar to the Iron OCN ladder if there weren't enchants, IMO. The bow is still very useful in the ladder now.Posted on 08 February 2015 - 10:20 PM

We gain a more diverse ladder, and a better one (IMO). The last sentence of my last post was dumb, even I realised that yet I still posted it. Bows are now only used for setting up combos but I feel like they need a slight buff. You're point about keeping it a raw sword pvp ladder is like saying UHC ladder should be a raw bow ladder where players are given a wood sword (which would do roughly the same damage as bows do in the current DOCN ladder)

A huge portion of GApple is timing your gapples, equipping armor, and minor strategical things with the armor timing. In addition, GApple is speed 2 strength 2, whereas Dia OCN is no-speed, no-strength.
