I get that I need to disable my firewall or make an exception to run your client, but why is it picked up in the first place?Extremely unsettling.
Any good answers?
Re: I have run the client before and never had the jar error, why is it occurring now?

Hello,Firewalls tend to block connections.
Disable your firewall and antivirus and see if it fixes the issue. If it doesn't fix the issue, click on "Submit Bug Report" at the bottom of the launcher after having this issue. It will send us your logs and the tech support team will look into the issue.
Also, if you are trying to launch 1.16, that's the reason it shows that error because it is available for Insiders at the moment. If you are trying to launch any other version, do what I explained above.

Why is your connection specifically being blocked by my firewall though? Numerous other programs connect to my computer and are not picked up by my firewall. I have had the same firewall and antivirus software for years. It has NOT blocked your program before from running, curious as to why it would now?Can you explain where your servers are, or what ports the client is trying to connect through? If not that is fine, I understand.
Still very unsettling for your community members and the idea of turning off my firewall to play on your client specifically leaves me very uneased.
Re: I am not trying to play at version 1.16.x, no version pops up in the version drop-down box on your client. It prevents connections to and or from your servers.

I have the same issue with Bitdefender its something wrong with the client, something recently added is getting picked up by my antivirus. I've submitted a badlion bug report. pretty disappointed I cant play on badlion client because I'm constantly getting spammed with antivirus notifications. I'm not going to uninstall my antivirus just to use this client it's rediculous please look into this asap.Posted on 24 April 2020 - 08:01 AM

Firewalls block many programs, not just Badlion Client. Windows Firewall will be triggered if a program is listening on a port - effectively acting as a server. Badlion Client has ports and that's why your firewall is blocking it.
There is a thing called "whitelisting". Use it instead of turning the firewall off.

There was an anti-cheat (BAC) update.
Badlion Client contains no malicious software. We use special software to protect our intellectual property in the anti-cheat software (BAC) and sometimes this is flagged by antivirus services as a virus or a trojan due to the way the protection software manipulates the machine language code.
Please ignore these warnings and add an exception to your antivirus software for the Badlion Client if this happens to you. If your antivirus does not have an option to whitelist programs or ignore warnings, then inform the antivirus software creators that Badlion Client and its files are not a threat.
It's not a bug on the client side.
