it is really annoying for the chat to not be coloured on 1.8.9 and it really stops me from seeing the chat to its full capability becasue of like "blue bed destroyed" would be blue instantly letting me know that it was blue without having to look through the other white chat!!

Is everything in the chat white? If it is, there is an option to toggle colors in Minecraft chat settings.
