This happens when you leave a game without dying and return after the 5 minute relog period. Someone knocked on my door and I didn't get back in time and I understand I can't keep playing but it also prevented me from spectating the game. Pretty sure they know about this already. I don't know how this could be fixed since they have the feature to be able to join a game late as a donator+.

I've also wanted to spec a game and came in at 17-19 minutes and it puts me in the game since I'm donor+. Since I didn't want to play, I left and came back after 5 minutes and get the same message as in the OPs picture. I now would have to drown myself or fall from a high place to be able to spectate immediately, rather than wait for someone to find me and kill me. ;)

This, there are a few edge cases at the moment where you can't return as a donator+

We know about these and it's on our todo list….which is very long
