I have the suggestion to implement either a transparent skin mod, or try to add it into the game overall. Transparent skins were introduced in version (1.9+), therefore (1.8.9-) players cannot access this feature. It would create a larger range of customization because I believe many of the users of this client use the older versions. The most realistic thing would be to have a mod and just a plain toggle switch to toggle the transparency on and off.

I also have a suggestion about the current FullBright mod. There is no way to adjust how bright things are. Yes, you can change the brightness within Minecraft settings, however with some packs, even the brightest setting is very dark at night, especially if they are using the timechanger mod if they want to display a custom sky, etc. Sometimes FullBright is too bright, but with it off and the Minecraft setting at 100% it's still too dark. This is a very specific issue however it would be handy to have a slider to adjust the FullBright mod.

Transparent skins is for the second layer, right ?
I understand why glitchy skins were popular now
