Not sure if this is intended, but the particles mod is meant to increase the number of particles, but it only increases sharpness and crit particles, instead of others. For example, breaking a block will produce the same amount of particles even if the multiplier is set higher.

I'm pretty sure it was meant to only increase sharpness and crit particles.
