Crits, Ping, PvP in general
I do not understand why things such as blockhitting, critting, and having good ping are considered bad.

Who is the authority on what is "okay" in PvP?

Everytime I PvP, someone always comments on the fact that I make use of both block hitting, and critically striking via jumping. I do this especially in soups.

Why do people think using an in game mechanic as an advantage is bad? Where did this start?

The main point is I want to know why this is commonly accepted. Its quite idiotic. Its like going to war unarmed, yet carrying a rifle. You have a great weapon which can greatly aid you, yet you choose not to use it because its "not okay".

See my point?

Who started this, and why is it so accepted as the utmost holy "PvP dogma"?

I think jumping the whole time and block hitting is scummy. Sure everyone can do it, but everyone can also camp buffs off and kb people away from the top of a hill. Also, when you are jumping the whole time it makes it very hard to strafe, and strafing is one of the few things that takes skill in pvp. If you want to be one of those kangaroo shitheads go ahead, but people are going to hate on you, and there's nothing you can do that will stop that. Now excuse me while I run around in call of duty with an rpg, blowing up everyone I see; everyone has access to it so it must be ok

Basically this, emphasis on the strafing takes skill. If im strafing and actually pvping, while you just jump up and down/block hit I'm gonna be pissed if you win. It takes no skill. How about I take advantage of the mechanic of it being coded with java and use a client?

People just look for excuses of why they lost.
Blockhitting, ping, and critting are all excuses people come up with when they can't accept the fact someone beat them fairly.

If I'm against somebody I could lose a lot of elo or win a lot of elo from, I'm not gonna do what takes "skill." I'm gonna crit and blockhit if needed.

To be a non scummy pvper, you need to:

Never jump
Never blockhit
Have bad ping
Not bad enough to be laggy
Never bow
Never swordrush
Never use any debuffs
Never run away
Never pearl too much
Never straightline
Never click too fast
Never use a rod
Never have knockback
Never kill somebody when they're lagging
Never outnumber
Never outgear
Never have a good mouse
Never have a good computer

Or maybe he's just being an ass and mocking the idea that some tactics are stupid and don't require any skill. Sure anyone can block hit, but that doesn't mean it's fine to spam it 24/7.

Why isn't it fine to spam it 24/7? I don't see anywhere under the minecraft pvp wiki that says there's a limit to blockhitting.

Lmao I find it funny how people actually care what other people think of their PvP tactics. If it's allowed and if it gets you wins, then why not do it? Other people only complain because they're too stupid to figure out how to counter your tactics or are shit at PvP.

How is block hitting so bad,it seems to me there like universal scrubby ways to win pvp and pro ways to win because people judge how you pvp ITS NOT! Can someone explain why block hitting is bad it slows u down and you have to have good aim how is it so scrubby and newbish?,Because you don't do it @redpandaarcher ?

Personally i don't do it, and personally I don't care if others block hit or not, it's their own style of pvp that I won't judge
