Lag for no reason(that i've seen)

When I play minecraft, I usually have around 100-300 fps, but since yesterday when there was a new update, I've been getting 10-30 fps. I really have no idea why? I've tried to lower my graphics or turn off some of my mods, but nothing seems to be working.
