So I thought a useful mod to add to the client would be a hotkey display. This would have your hotbar hotkeys appear above, in, under or around the hotbar slot they corresponded to. For example, my hotkey for slot 4 is V, so this could make a little "V" appear in that slot. I like this idea because it means you can watch other people play and try out the hotkeys they use. Also, it could help if you somehow forget, mid-game.

This is a great idea! I struggle to remember what hotkey to press for 6 and 7, sometimes i mess them up and throw an egg instead of a pearl lol
However there should be a position like maybe in bottom right corner of each slot, and it is an overlay, i dont know how to describe it other than how the item’s number is on top of the item, this should be an option, like in the texture packs that do it. This way it would be on top of the item as well but not so big/in the way, otherwise it would be useless if you have maybe a large item or something lime a pearl that takes up most of the slot and would cover the hotkey
