There is this mod called controllable that adds controller support into Minecraft java edition and I think it would have a good place in Badlion.

I know you might not be able to add it for copyright reasons

There is a program you can get on pc that lets you do this no matter what client, it is external to minecraft but doesnt trigger badlion, i cant remember what it is called but it works awesome for ps4 controllers, xbox already is compatible with windows 10 so there shouldnt be anything you would need to download for it to work with xbox and windows 10
