Having flint and steel in the MCSG kit promotes 1v1s where whoever gets impatient first loses. It takes little to no skill to play defensively until the other player goes overly aggressive and allows themself to be lit on fire, which is what ends up happening in half the MCSG ladder games. Having flint and steel does not reflect the MCSG environment, as in MCSG you are able to deal more knockback with the rod, such that you don't automatically lose as soon as you get lit on fire (unlike on Badlion). Not having full iron armour also makes FnS more potent than it is on the MCSG servers, as the fact that you die a lot quicker makes it more difficult to recover from being lit. Before you tell me to get better with flint and steel, I'm pretty good with it myself but simply don't have the will to engage in 2 minute long 'FnS skirmishes'. All in all, the MCSG ladder would be a lot more enjoyable and skill-oriented without FnS imo.

FnS is an integral part of MCSG PvP, and is likely to stay as such. I would suggest an armor buff if anything, but I'm personally very satisfied with the way it is now.Posted on 18 February 2015 - 11:22 PM
