I’m rly excited for oof mod v3, but I don’t use forge due to too many annoying issues. So I suggest you add it when it comes out, just look up powns channel on YT. In v3 they add it so you can customize which sound it plays for which death (e.g. hitmarker for now kills, stab for sword, fish catch for rod)

BEFORE YOU SAY THAT YOU CANT ADD IT DUE TO COPYRIGHT REASONS I HAVE A FEW QUESTIONS:

1. What is copyrighted, the mod itself or the sounds?

2, if it is the sounds, can’t you just remove the copyrighted ones and still include the non-copyrighted sounds (LEGO Yoda, Hitmarker, etc?)

U can edit sounds by yourself using soundpacks

Your only able to edit the damage sound, not just death, and it would be extremely annoying if it’s every hit

refer to the second “paragraph” also did u even read the post? I said there could be ways to avoid the copyright, but I needed to know what was copyrighted. So obviously, I’m not the one who needs to do research

what could be copyright is the sound or the code with the mod itself, but the mod creator powns is on the developer team. so I think the sounds is the large problem

Thank you, that is what I wanted to know. Can’t they just bypass this by adding different sounds (as I said in the original post, sounds like hitmarker and LEGO yoda I don’t think are copyrighted)

Hello,

Not sure if we can add OOF mod, due to copyright and legal issues. The "oof" sound is copyrighted, we don't have the rights to use and distribute it as part of the client. Refraction and Powns can as the mod is non-profit and open source. That & pretty much 90% of the sound effects that people will add themselves will likely be copyrighted material.

ok, thanks for the feedback! it would be really nice if you could find a way around it, because many people really want this, but no rush!

But you couldn't add this if it was client sided? I mean, you can already add copyrighted material in resource packs.
