So I downloaded Dragon Esdeath texture pack and the sword should look like this

But it looks like the Normal Minecraft sword

Hello,
Try toggling "Custom Items" in Optifine's Quality settings. If that does not help, check and see if the resource pack works in Vanilla Minecraft. If it does, please send me the resource pack so that I can test it.
