I have been watching Purpled's YouTube videos and he has his helmet and chest-plate on the left side of his hot-bar, and his leggings and boots on the right hand side. I have been trying to do this but I am unsure on how to do this. If someone knows how to do this please reply, thanks.

Go into the ArmorStatus mod and enable the "advanced" mode (or turn off basic mode, can't remember which one it is called).

Then you can separate and move the pieces around.
