For the last couple hours or so, I've been building up ELO to ensure my number 1 spot. I got up to around 2040'ish and won a game, after the deathmatch, tab scoreboard stuff told me I had been at 2043, as expected. Immediately after that I checked the leaderboards - I had gone down to 2018!I played a game or two to see if it would fix itself - it didn't. Some investigation led me to this discovery:
These were the games I played:

Clicking on them individually, I will find that…
The first one, the last one I played, is normal and correct, aside from my abnormally low ELO rating.

The next one is strange. It leads to here:

Not only do I not appear in the PvP timeline, it appears only 8 people were in this game, of which I placed…11th. Unless somehow 3-4 people died of natural causes, of which I not only doubt, but know never happened to me. I apparently died in 0 seconds, too. (Edit: Farther investigation shows others also died in 0 seconds. Checking other games, this doesn't seem a common occurrence.)
The next game leads to a 502 Bad Gateway page. This is the game that I did immediately after the bug occured, earning me two of my points back.

Finally, this last one is the one that I won when I suddenly lost points:

No other games on this page appear between these times, so in no other game could I have lost the points than the one I don't show up in.
…Any explanation for how this may have happened?
Edit: I do understand by the way that leaving a match will make you lose points. However, I do not ever recall doing so. Besides, several other people had the same problem with the same game.

This is a beta season for a reason. There are some bugs, nothing is ever perfect on launch. We will be looking into some of these things soon…but the ranked system really hasn't shown much interest tbh, we are considering removing it altogether…not sure yet.

I think the ranked sg has been very successfulEvery match I play is filled and there are already several people in the 2ks

I wasn't expecting it bug free, don't worry. I wouldn't even ask for my ELO back in this case because at some point everyone has to deal with these problems.Ultimately, it was merely a report of a strange happening.
Regardless, I would like to express my interests in keeping the ranked system. Badlion ranked SG is the only place I know where I can play SG without having to deal with a lot of teams. Certainly there is the occasional one, but not nearly as common as everywhere else. As a frequent solo player, it's a nice breath of fresh air, not to be shut down by players at such an advantage all the time.
If nothing else, and the ranked system is abandoned, then I'd still like a separation between team and non-team games. I may be alone there, though. :/

I will have to dig into the matter in more detail. Did other people in the matchmaking lobby all move into the game and for some reason you did not? If you remember off hand how many people were in the matchmaking lobby waitin for a match when it bugged out?Posted on 23 February 2015 - 08:49 AM
Sadly, I recall none of that information, as at the time it was of no concern to me. I didn't realize an error had occurred until that stuff had passed, and I've played numerous matches today, so my recollection blends together somewhat.I do recall at one point today going into the matchmaking lobby only to back out to check something beforehand, but I do not recall if this had been at the time of this sudden loss in points. Regardless, it shouldn't have been, as I had not yet been assigned a match. Still, this seems most likely to me, as it's the only explanation of the sudden loss of points between winning my last match and checking the leaderboards. Tomorrow, I can test various scenarios on my alt account to see if I can reproduce it.
If I had more info, I would provide it. Sadly all I really have is the match info in those links, as I had not been paying enough attention at the time.

I know for a fact in some lobbies it sets a few people to already being dead, even though they are not in the lobby (it's full), if I can get the scenario again soon I will post a screenshot of itPosted on 07 March 2015 - 01:42 AM
I have found the cause.Occasionally, I have experienced instances where it will say it found me a match, but then not put me in. The matchmaking lobby will empty of most of its players, however I will not be put in the match.

(in-game screenshot for time stamp.)
This in itself isn't the problem. From my experience, it seems that if I stay in the lobby until it finds me another match, it will not cause issues. If, however, I leave the matchmaking lobby at this point, even though I am not in a match, I will lose ELO. (This took about 30 seconds after the disconnect to update my ELO on the leaderboards.)
Here is the match I "took part in."

I presume this has to do with the way the matchmaking determines I'm in a match. The same flag that says to send me the message that it found me a match must have also set it so that if I were to disconnect from a server any time before the game ends, it will consider it a loss. I assume this is also why I don't lose ELO if I don't disconnect: Since I never died or disconnected from the original game, it will let it slide.
In other words, maybe it needs modified to recognize when a player is not properly put into a game. This seems to be the problem.

Uhhh…http://puu.sh/gA6Fh/a49eaef22f.png
Bump?
I just lost about 150 ELO because I lost a game on Holiday resort after matchmaking bugged out.
Matchmaking failed to put me in 6 games in a row. Then, it proceded to give messages telling me it couldn't put me in a server because there weren't any open. This was followed by my matchmaking lobby filling up quite a bit, until eventually I was put in a proper game on holiday resort.
I lost this game on holiday resort - placed 8th. I then checked the leaderboards to find I had went from 2126 ELO to 1968, a loss of 158 ELO, for losing 6 games, that, mind you, took place at the exact same time, that I had not participated in.
This is definitely the biggest issue that needs resolved before the beginning of the first proper season.
Now my question is, why did it fail to put me in a server 6 times in a row? Other people kept getting sent in just fine. Does it have something to do with my high ELO?
