is there a way to make graphics better for 1.8.9?

Hello,
There is no way to improve graphics per se as it all depends on Minecraft's Graphics but here are a few things that you can do :

1) Disable our "Low Graphics Mode" option as it disables different cosmetic looks.

2) If you have Optifine enabled, you can change the quality of a lot of textures and shadows in Video Settings > Quality
