So there is this bug even since 1.16.2 where I can|t click on anything in the chat. When I take a screenshot I can't view it, upload or delete it from the links in the chat. On Hypixel I can't join parties, accept trades anything.

In correlation to this, when I go into the chat settings, the last thing I see is "Chat height unfocused" and a little tidbit of the bar. I can't go down more, there is no slider bar anything. That started to happen probably since the 1.16.3, although the main bug above started in 1.16.2. Any tips on how to make it function again? It really ticks me off being so slow and do all these simple things hard and manual way.

Okay, so it seems that I found it out. I was trying to experiment when it shuts itself and it seems to be the toggle button. Whenever I turn off chat with the toggle button and then toggle it back, the chat seems to stop working. In addition to this, when I reloaded the game, the chat stopped working again.

May this help developers to patch this bug or to anyone else suffering from this.
