Hi, so in the notification bar, it asked me to update java. I went to control panel and pressed check for update. Then after a few minutes, a popup appeared saying (i think) "java runtime enviroment wants to make changes to my computer." I clicked yes. When something appeared, it asked me to remove older java versions and that I havent used java in 6 months. Do I need to update java in order for badlion to run minecraft?

Hello,
Minecraft is coded in java and that's how it runs, please keep it up to date so that the game can run. Usually, it preinstalls java when you download minecraft but occasionally you have to do it manually. If you still have issues reply again to this thread.

is it safe to remove older version? it warns me that apps may not support new versions.
