I know I may get flamed or shut down for this, but I'd just like you guys to read it before you say "no dude the current host is fine"Basically, I think the NA host should move to the western part of the United States. No, this isn't to improve my ping either, since I get around 45ms to west coast US servers and 44-47ms to the current box, so my ping basically would not be affected either way, just pointing that out to show my post is not bias to my ping.
The reason being for this is that since EU came out, the need to balance the box out for European players has become unneeded. I think a western box would be helpful because it would make the Australians and the Asians have better ping to Badlion, while barely affecting the current US population. If you are worried about the east coast population's ping, try to make it more central US then, even though a west caost box would be more ideal, so the Aussies and the Asians can also get around 190ms, while most the US would get a max of 90 ping.
Hope I brought up some good points, and hell, maybe the NA 1 box and NA 2 box could be in different locations?
i.e. NA 1 box east coast NA 2 box west coast

My ping is ~100 from the west which is good enough for me. Also, it's more complicated than simply switching the host :/Posted on 27 February 2015 - 12:11 AM

If we were to switch our ddos protection again it would possibly be to staminus, which is an enterprise level solution. I have a contact over there who has been trying pretty hard to get me to switch Badlion over to it, and has given me a pretty reasonable price…unfortunately this would still result in higher bills for Badlion again.Pros: They have a DC location in LA and one in NY. So naturally there could actually be a NA West Coast and an NA East Coast server setup or something instead of NA 1 and NA 2.
Cons: More $, more possible points of failure, downtime for migrations, working with them to establish a good setup for our anti-ddos needs etc.
