Welcome everyone to the first weekly update for Badlion Client 3.0 Closed Beta! We are excited to see how many 1000s of people are already testing and enjoying Badlion Client 3.0! We can't wait to share it with the rest of the community when it is ready.

I will try to keep these 1 week update posts relatively short, so they are easy to digest and can show how much work is being done by the team. Without further ado, let's dive into it.

Infrastructure Upgrades

  • Hypixel API - We have recently spent a bunch of time working closely with the Hypixel development team to optimize and clean up our performance when using their API to make some of our mods work like LevelHead. Many of you have probably already seen this improvement in game and now are getting more accurate and reliable data. We are going to continue to work closely with them to ensure all of our users can enjoy the added benefits of Badlion Client and our Hypixel compatible mods without any problems.



  • Halloween Theme was added as a limited time option for users…it will be gone soon…yes we are a bit late on this, but it was a great idea for our last minute festivities :)
  • The Resource Pack Search Menu has now been finished and is operational. Go online and find new packs to use in the comfort of the Badlion Client 3.0 menus!
  • Added drag and drop functionality to the new resource pack menu to move your packs around directly in game
  • Added pagination to the emote wheel (you can now setup multiple pages of emotes!)
  • Added a new right click menu for the Friend requests menu (did you guys know you can right click on a ton of menus in BLC 3.0?)



    • Launcher Fixes

    3.0.0-beta.2 Fixes

  • [macOS] Fixed an issue where Insiders could not access the launcher…my bad guys :(

    • Minecraft Fixes

    3.0.0-beta.2 Fixes

  • [1.12] Fixed an issue causing chat to crash the entire client with lots of weird behavior
  • [1.12+] Fixed an Optifine compatibility related to blocks…like isn't this the main point of Minecraft?
  • [1.14+] Fixed an issue where chat messages were rendering twice
  • [All] Fixed the Cosmetics Preview menu to not have text all over the place and properly cut off the player preview
  • [All] Fixed an issue which made all mods on screen invisible…not all of us can see into the other dimensions
  • [All] Fixed an issue where the main menu button was visible on the server listing when playing in game
  • [All] Fixed an issue where the Friends menu was not intercepting clicks and passing them on to the unknown
  • [All] Fixed a coloring issue with the Coordinates mod not using the primary color correctly
  • [All] Fixed an issue where menus were not passing our internal events around properly and causing weird bugs like scrolling on two menus at the same time.
  • [All] Fixed an issue with our math where sometimes UI's would randomly spaz out and appear in the wrong locations
  • [All] Fixed an issue where themes would corrupt and cause crashes if something changed drastically in our manager
  • [All] Fixed an issue where using a "|" symbol would cause weird problems when trying to use the input fields in the client
  • [All] Fixed some hitbox mod options not showing up to users
  • [All] Fixed a glitch where text would remain on the screen when hovering over the ping on the multiplayer screen
  • [All] Fixed a crash related to the account manager



    • Launcher Tweaks

  • Nothing new this week, we will cover all of the new features for 3.0 later in the beta or towards the release for the public to see

    • Minecraft Tweaks

  • Added back in the vanilla check for when joining the wrong version world on singleplayer before overwriting it.
  • Added a help icon to the Theme Manager to link users to our awesome help center (which we are still working to translate!)
  • Added back in the option for the old chat vs our new chat



    • FPS FPS FPS FPS FPS FPS FPS FPS FPS FPS

    There I said FPS 10 times (11 now), that must mean something big is coming right? Our main focus for the last few months has been finishing the UI (it's not perfect, but it's definitely much nicer than it was a few months ago…lots of problems at the start). We are now starting to steer the ship in a different direction and focus on polish and performance. When building any new product you start off by making a vision, creating the vision, and then cleaning up the vision. We are starting to hit that cleanup stage where we clean up the FPS performance on all of the new systems we have built and optimize the heck out the client. Thanks to a lot of the new technology and ideas we have introduced in Badlion Client 3.0, this will now be easier than ever to do. All while still being compatible with Optifine.

    Besides improving the FPS on the client, we will be releasing some new Insider features that we have been working on to continue to give more reasons to become an Insider (seriously, if you are not already, we keep packing more features into our cheap $5/mo offering).     Lastly we are working on finalizing some more BLC 3.0 menus in the next week for the client. The big topic for us this coming week is finishing up the Replay System and menus assocaited with it. After that we have the Teamspeak Mod, and a few other random mods/features that need to be ported to our 3.0 menu system.



  • Probably too many to list here to be honest…I think most of the REALLY big ones are already gone though. Lots of little things that we will continue to fix.



    • That's it for the first Badlion Client 3.0 Close Beta update. We have taken a small step back this week and are recovering from the whole month of October and all of the stressful and long weeks. We are also SUPER excited and happy with the launch of the closed beta, and are really happy that overall it is very stable. We can't wait to get back into it this coming week, and start cleaning up more things. Later in the beta you can expect more new features to become available, once we have polished the UI and made the FPS better.

    I really need this fps boost because on badlion 2.0 I get 500 fps and on 3.0 I get only 50

    Also, there is a problem is that in hypixel when i press the command /friend list, the text in the list wouldnt show up

    Have you changed any Optifine settings or soemthing? That seems EXTREMELY weird and we would probably want to debug this with you if you are still having these issues.

    There is still no official launch date. For now it is staying in closed beta, there is a lot of work to still be done on it.

    I don't quite get it… I am in the 3.0 beta, but the Minecraft version 1.16.3 is not yet ready?
