You should use a different texture pack. If you don't want a drastic change I recommend faithful or a default pvp texture pack. If you're fine with a little change I recommend Huahwi's texture pack. In my eyes I think default makes pvp easier even though I'm probably wrong but at least it makes me better. You actually aren't even half bad, probably better than me, at least at these OCN ladders and other non potion ladders.
