The lag properly assessed
This isn't gonna be another one of those posts where I or someone else says "OH THE LAG IS SO BAD FIX IT I QUIT" I've gone ahead and done everything asked by the devs to help pin down the exact cause of the lag.

NA PvP 1
TPS: Steady 19.7
Potion player count: 740
Entire player count: 2100

The Video:

Notice after 12 seconds into the video, my bow shots are delayed, there's a tiny freeze, and he teleports around. Also look at the chat and you will see multiple people type "lag". This was a server wide freeze, and this is actually a small freeze in comparison to some I've encountered.

In the background I had my cmd prompt open pinging na.badlion.net 10,000 times. Here are the results when the freeze occurred:

Immediately after this fight I did a tracert to Badlion, here are the results:

I'm East Coast, located in NC to be more specific if this helps solve the problem in anyway.

I tried to do some testing the other day, but didn't get too far before calling it a night. This was on NA1 server.

I think there is 2 types of lag, freeze lag is where one of the players freezes. Other lag is where all players on a map or the server lag or freeze.

Experienced the "freeze lag" once, alt tabbed & I had request timed out. Wifi was fine at the time of the timeout. I don't think the other player had the problem, but I am unsure. I will try to find this out eventually.

Experienced "other lag" another time, connection to server seemed fine, the player I was fighting also experienced the lag. This was with 700 players on at about 19.6tps, the player count was previously dropping from 800 so maybe Gcheat turned on or something. There could have been a small increase in my ping to the server like in burnt's pic, but with my higher ms & wifi It's hard for me to tell without more testing

I experience unsmooth play on Kohi aswell, However it seems just a bit jittery / little bit delayed or laggy compared to badlion where is seems to be unsmooth but freezing a lot more.

@BurntCactus sadly it just looks like some kind of a network issue. Its not really enough data to go off of yet, but if people can keep accumulating more stuff like this we can get further.

Didn't exactly expect an instant fix, just figured I'd make the only educated post about lag thus far. Although I titled it a proper assessment, it's just a general idea. Would need more people in east coast, and other locations to do this same test 2-3 times to get a proper assessment. With people claiming that Kohi has similar lag, I knew it wasn't Badlion specific, maybe this data is something that OVH could work with though? If you need any specific tests to be done to help work issues out with the data center let me know. @MasterGberry

Sometimes I get lag where everyone teleports around, lag where my bow shots shoot faster than normal and lag where my pots are delayed; I'll try get those recorded too w/ ping on the right.

Immediately after, I went back on and got the teleporting players lag; it's just my ping spiking, but I can't tell if it's because of my ISP or not

To test if its my internet I start pinging another server that I know isn't lagging. :P

Yeah, second test was on my side I believe

I'm really laggy today, not providing any evidence, just pointing it out and a lot of other players are experiencing,

Ugh this is actually pissing me off, I can't record at a high enough framerate to be able to prove anything
I just want to be able to play again without having to pick and choose times where I'm not lagging, which are usually times where there are maybe 200 people on and very little competition

I really hope we hit 5k players so we can get a west coast host lele
