BLC SUGGESTION - Edit Multiple Profiles at Once
Last edited on 24 November 2023 - 10:04 AM by ewan501
INTRODUCTIONI am a fairly active Hypixel Skyblock (SB) player, and to help benefit me in my general use of Badlion Client (BLC) and Skyblock, I use the profile features. I have different profiles for different things to do in SB, for example, I have one for slayers, one for dungeons, mining, fishing, farming, etc! All of these profiles were originally copies of one base profile, which had the necessities already on them, and that was that.
But, as updates come and go, new mods are added, the settings for mods are changed, and new general BLC features are added. A prime example of this is in the upcoming 4.0 update, with the addition of new rounded edges for mods that use a basic text GUI (e.g. CPS, Memory, FPS, etc).
I want to try and implement these new features into all of my profiles, but that is where I run into an issue. I would need to go to each profile individually and change the settings, and if you have over five or six profiles, as I do, it becomes a very tedious task. Now, this suggestion is completely due to laziness, and I am not even sure if these issues are still applicable to other BLC users, but I like to assume it is.
MY SUGGESTION
My suggestion is fairly simple, it has just got to do with one aspect: Selection. My suggestion is the ability to select multiple profiles to edit its mod settings, it could be done in multiple ways, which I will get on to in the next segment, but the main idea is being able to select two or more profiles and be able to change the very general settings about them. Some examples of "general settings" could be:
- - Mod GUI Location
- - Text/Background Settings for GUIs
- - General Mod Settings
- - Enabling a mod for all selected profiles
- - Changing key binds for all selected profiles
- - Etc
These settings plus more would allow the "efficient" players of SB, just like me, to save that easy 30 minutes by being able to change all of the selected profiles at once.
HOW IT WOULD WORK
There are multiple ways my suggestion could work, from mutually enabled mods/settings to having folders with mods inside. I will explain all of my different ideas for this suggestion in the list below, including the positives and negatives of each one:
- MUTUAL MODS/SETTINGS: After each profile you wish to edit has been selected and you head to the mods page, it will only show the mods that are enabled on all of the selected profiles. You can disable this by clicking the "Show All" button instead of the "Show Mutual" button. When clicking "Show All", it will show every BLC mod. If a mod has one or more profiles using it, there will be text in the top right corner of each mod saying: "[MUTUAL WITH X PROFILES]". With X being the amount of profiles using that one mod. If all of the selected profiles are using the said mod, it will say "[MUTUAL WITH ALL PROFILES]" or "[MUTUAL WITH X PROFILES]" again. However, this time a light blue border will be around that mod, showing it's mutual with all of the selected profiles. A blue background also works, plus any other colour. When selecting mods, and settings, and changing the location of mods with are mutual with all profiles, the changes will be saved with every profile, even to the small details like text font or colour and text formatting. POSITIVES: Easy to see mutual mods and then change them. NEGATIVES: Hard to try and manage, not beginner-friendly. You have to select each mod every time you wish to change settings
- PROFILE FOLDERS: This is alot more simple. Each mod is unique and has its own unique mods. You would change the mods for each profile as you normally do, etc. However, you are also able to change the mods for the folder. When you select a mod while in the folder, the mod and the setting you choose for that mod will be enabled for all the mods in that folder. If you go back to edit the mods for a specific mod, those enabled will have a slider that shows green instead of blue. You can still edit the settings for a specific profile if you wish, but if you want to link the settings back up with the folder, click the "Sync with Folder" button which will show near the profile you currently have enabled. POSITIVES: Easy to edit mods quickly, Beginner Friendly, Organises Mods with Ease. NEGATIVES: Can't have a profile in multiple folders
- SYNC SETTINGS W/ OTHER PROFILE(S): This suggestion takes a lot more time than the other two, but it's very easy to use. You will click on a specific profile and navigate to a mod of choice. Then, on the mod screen, there will be a button near the top of the GUI saying "SYNC SETTINGS". Upon clicking this button, you will see all of your current profiles, excluding the ones you currently have enabled. Then, you will click all of the mods you wish to have the same settings as the profile you currently have enabled and click "Save". All of the selected mods will now have the settings for the mod you had on the original enabled profile. POSITIVES: Incredibly Beginner Friendly, Simple to Use NEGATIVES: Time-Consuming, Have to "re-sync" after any edit.
My personal recommendation is the PROFILE FOLDERS method, as it is beginner-friendly and easy to use, the settings save constantly even after editing the folder, and there is a side bonus of organizing your profiles if you have loads of different ones which you need to link under (Like PVP, Skyblock, Hypixel). I didn't mention this in the description, but just like a Windows or Mac file explorer, you can have folders in folders. That becomes more complicated, but my idea is every mod in every folder in that one main folder will share the same setting for mutual mods.
CONCLUSION
This is my first suggestion made for BLC, and probably not my last. I am looking for feedback about my fact-checking and how I formatted this suggestion. Was it easy to read? Were there suggestions I made that already exist? You get the idea. I hope that this issue when I ran into exists for my fellow BLC users, and hope that, if you like it, support is given, I would appreciate it a lot. If you have questions about anything I said in this suggestion, please feel free to reply with said question and I will try to answer it to the best of my ability.
Thank you so much for reading this huge 1100+ word suggestion, and please support it if you like my ideas.
