Revert score changes caused by banned users.

It'd be nice to integrate the banlist with the ranked ladders and make it so that if someone is banned everyone whose score changed as a result of fighting them would be rolled back as if they never played. Of course, due to the nature of the Elo system this would affect players who never directly fought a banned player but fought someone who may have lost to a banned player causing them to get less elo than they deserve. If feasible, this should be looked into.Posted on 08 October 2013 - 05:18 AM
We don't track this information currently. So it is not possible at the moment…we might eventually put some kind of nice match page together where you can see various stats that might have occurred during a fight, including the winner, number of pots used, length of the match, etc.Posted on 09 October 2013 - 04:22 PM

We could go and retroactively change everyone who ever ran into said banned hacker, but then all their matches have to be changed, and all their opps, and now the opps of the opps, etc.
Three reasons this will never happened:
1. The complexity of an algorithm to go change anyone directly or indirectly affected by a hacker is extreme, and my first guess is that it would be O(2^n). This means it could take anywhere from hours to weeks to fix someone, depending on time elapsed of played games/amount of played games.
2. People not directly involved could lose hundreds of points, and that's not fair to them.
3. We would have to turn off the server or ranked games every time we banned someone (maybe for days for a SINGLE person) as new data coming would affect it.
It's overall not worth a few points to make it like a person never existed.

We can't change score changes, but I think it would be feasible to remove banned users from the ladder rankings, wouldn't it?
