Ok, I'm going to get straight down to business here : I want to know what people think about removing fishing rods and bows from all pot related ladders. Before any smartass comes and says :"Vanilla is supposed to have all you get in Vanilla in it" I'm just going to point out that in a real Vanilla situation (or any other pot ladders) then you would be able to run away from the opponent and /home or /spawn. I have no problem with somebody using the fishing rod and bow lightly during a match, but running away and killing someone with a bow and fishing rod and not letting them get close to you is really unfair. I've made a strawpoll below with a few different options, if you wish then please vote. I also have a few more solutions that MIGHT work:

1. : Have a timer on Fishing rods and bows (maybe 10 seconds)
2. : Only allowed one or the other in your kit.
3. : Obligatory to have in you kit (everyone has to have a bow and fishing rod)
4. : (nothing to do with the fishing rod and bow problem) obligatory amount of base potions (speed,fire res,strength,regen,etc.) and enderpearls. (this could also become a problem)

OP: If you don't like the ladder because of the items the players chose, stick with a different ladder. Not letting players get near you is a good tactic in vanilla, as a critical hit is around 5-6 healths if done correctly.

Isn't there something called an enderpearl?When I see someone with a bow I just pearl to them and that usually solves the problem.
Also, bows do like 1/2 a heart damage in vanilla anyways.
Knockback is annoying but stops the opponent from getting combos.

Gapple were removed because they were too broken. What is different about kb/punch?

Adding gapples completely changes the way the vanilla ladder works, and it's way too deviated to call it the same ladder. Punch and kb are enchantments that have always been in the ladder, and one of the things you just have to deal with.

KB/Punch do not make you god mode, just a little bit more health if used correctly because you can evade your enemy. That argument is very invalid and way too over used.
