So what am I doing for my 1000th post you may ask? Why is mine any different than others?

I'm gonna take the opportunity to tell you guys how I got here as a PvPer and how I ended up here writing this post. You might have seen my other one on the badlion's birthday post, but I'm reposting it anyways :)

We're gonna go back all the way to the beginning of the year 2012 where soup was just getting its start and PvP was very scarce in the community.

One day on the bus to school, my friend was telling me about this awesome game mode in Minecraft. He said it was kinda like survival games, but you could BREAK BLOCKS. I immediately fell in love with the idea and was super hyped to play it when I got home. I remember that we always avoided PvP. We would run to the back of the map and just gather material there. We would just crit and have fun. We would never win a game because we weren't good enough.

I remember hearing about the youtubers that played. My friends were like "DUDE THIS GUY CAN BLOCK AND HIT SOMEONE WITH THEIR SWORD THEY'RE SO GOOD!" At the time, we didn't even know that soup healed you 3 and a half hearts when eaten. When we saw the first couple YTers hotkey, we were just like "Holy shit dude, these guys are absolute gods." The meta game changed when we heard about the soup thing. I remember that all I could do was scroll and walk backwards.

When I learned about the hotkeying thing, I wanted to get better. I found a really weird kit server that had maybe 20 people on at a time. I kept on practicing and practicing. It took me about 3 months to get it down.

Along the lines, my friend found this incredibly alive KitPvP server. It was late 2012 and my friend told me that my server that I played on was outdated. He showed me MineHQ's kit PvP server and I fell in love instantly. I was a pro hotkeyer, so I could destroy everyone, right? I ended up getting absolutely smacked. People would do this thing where they would circle around me and I couldn't hit them! They were so elusive and I couldn't hit any of them. I had a .2 KDR at that point. I realized that the meta game had changed once again! Back then, I was super determined and wanted to just get better. That was my goal.

While I had this drive to get better, one of my pals showed me this guy named "Stimpy". We saw his videos and we thought he was an absolute fucking god. This dude is freakin' invincible. At this point, I started to get more serious than I had ever been about the game. I got a practice partner on the server(he's long gone now and has quit) and I could never beat him. He had such a good strafe it was unreal. I decided to get a new mouse and play with that(razer naga 2012).

Beginning of 2013: This is when I finally got good. I built my skill on one theory: "If they're strafing and I can still hit them, why strafe myself?" I like to consider myself a stubborn PvPer. I didn't strafe, but I was not affected by people's strafes. I was a straightliner before 1.7 even existed. I honed my skills and I was finally able to beat my friend. This gave me more motivation to get better and better. This year was where I met a lot of my old soup buddies(stheegala, SparklyOtters, DeliciousDynamix, TehBonemeal, there's too many to name).

Fast forwarding to when 1.7 came out: I was one of the first people to develop my skill with the sprint key. I learned that blockhitting was relevant again. The first day, I achieved a 126 killstreak in the 1v1 arena. I thought I was the best at this game. Then, the meta game changed AGAIN. People started figuring out these little things you could do to get that extra hit to hold a combo and little things like that. I still had that drive in me to keep up with all the people above me, so I started to try my own tactics out. I ended up not finding much, but I was okay.

I disappeared from the PvP scene at about December. I was going through something extremely rough and I needed to take a break. I returned a few months later, fired up to PvP again.

Beginning of 2014: This is when soup began to die. I realized that less and less people were playing soup and my friends and I started to wonder why. I looked on some soup players' YTs and saw them trying out Potion PvP. At the time, we were all like "WTF is this bullshit?" cause we HATED potions. I fought desperately(And I still do @MasterGberry) to try to keep soup alive. It became clear that it was futile. Soup was going to die and everyone was going to move to Potion PvP.

This is when I gave in. I thought to myself Alright, I'll give Potion PvP a try. I went to this server called badlion and I was all like "lol wats a badlion". I got distracted and saw they too had a soup server. I was like "YESSSS PEOPLE DO CARE ABOUT SOUP YESSSS YESSSS." I fell in love with the elo system they had and played there almost daily. One day, I decided to ACTUALLY check out the potion server there because I saw a video about it. I saw the Iron OCN ladder and I was like "I could destroy these noobs!" I was wrong… I got bowspammed to hell and left that ladder with my tail between my legs. I saw the HCF ladder and the Kohi one and became intrigued. I began to hardly play MineHQ anymore.

I started to play the potion ladders more and more, but soup was my priority still. I decided to apply for staff mid summer and didn't get accepted. I kept playing soup more and more. I got some of my friends to play a little, but I kept going at it. It wasn't until November that I started caring about Potion PvP ELO. I applied for staff with my main goal being to revive soup and keep hackers off of it. I was sure that my app was denied and then one day whilst in a doctor's office, I received a message from ginie on skype. I started flipping out and was like HOLY SHIT WHAT I GOT STAFF OMGOMGOMG. I became a trial, thinking that if I wasn't staffing at all times, my head would be chopped off. I got full mod and began to learn the names of well known people in the community.

I have been staffing here for the sole purpose that I was once just a regular player and I have felt what it was like having no one to be able to help me. I wanted to help out in any way I can and keep badlion fresh and alive. I'm so happy and thankful to be able to staff for all of you wonderful players and I hope to keep doing it for you guys until badlion is gone.

Welp, that's my story. I came from soup 3 years ago to end up here, writing this post in my study hall for people I hardly even know. I love PvPing and I hope to still like it for a long while. Thank you all who have made this amazing for me.

And you're bipolar as fuck. Please have anxiety attacks and emotional breakdowns over Minecraft elsewhere.
