I was going through vids on your channel and I saw a player named AlecVandehey, never seen him in game before but he seemedpretty popular at that time, did he quit or something or does he just play on another server or account?Posted on 14 April 2014 - 03:34 AM
I'm pretty inactive nowadays (comparatively), and AlecVandehey is long gone, but I've never explained this before and I don't have a better place to do so, so here goes.I knew AlecVandehey from the beginning, on another account but we'll get to that. I started alone, on ActionPVP. I made my first few videos on there, made a name for myself and Prodigy (my clan/faction). Once I had what I considered to be a decent amount of subs (~50-100) I switched to a more competitive server: IcedPVP.
Unlike Action, Iced had factions, the ability to set several homes, and more convenient teleportation features. This meant there was a lot of teaming. I made many allies but never joined a team nor recruited anyone; I wanted to prove that a one-man faction could rule them all.
As you can probably guess, this went badly for me for awhile. People got smart and I no longer had the element of surprise. I needed a teammate. Alec was the only one who knew me pre-Verilyx, and he was (and still is) in my mind the best PVPer. I invited him to help me and he gladly accepted.
Alec in turn got HIS name to be recognized by regularly destroying the then-best PVPer on Iced: _Dark_Phoenix_. This was the ultimate debut, as it turns out. There's a couple videos of Alec simply obliterating _Dark_, who as it turns out couldn't do much more than eat gapples (1.5 anyone?) and call for backup from his butt-buddies. Alec was a hero for shaming _Dark_ and taking his spot as the best PVPer on Iced.
I moved again, this time to SeverePVP (owned by Jackshow, I'm sure you're somewhat familiar with that name). Severe was 4-5x more populated than Iced, but even still I began by myself, slowly building up resources in an unclaimed sky base. It couldn't have been more than 2-3 days after I started PVPing that Alec asked to join me again. When he returned to the action, there was an uproar of approval from my subs I'd garnered from Iced and Action.
We were making videos as usual, slowly gaining more subs from the population of Severe, but one day something happened that I believe was the turning point of my MC/YT career. Alec won a 3v1 after losing his helmet halfway through the fight and the team he beat roused strong suspicions against him for hacks. He had recorded the whole thing. We uploaded it, and I called the montage "The Hacker." From that point on, Alec's reputation as the prodigious, strong/silent PVPer was sealed.
We moved to BattlePVP shortly after and I made a real team out of Prodigy, but sadly AlecVandehey was no more - U_Fall and I wanted to preserve Alec's legendary reputation so he played on his main account and we kind of made Alec "disappear." Many of my members uploaded to my channel, but Alec was always my subs' favorite (and, when I rewatch old videos, my favorite too).
The secret is out now, and for many of my subs it has been for awhile - but I loved the many months of anonymity, watching U_Fall transform this no-name player into a hero across different servers and helping boost his reputation with forums posts and videos. It was without a doubt one of the highlights of my Minecraft career, which unfortunately I fear may come to a halt in the near future.

tl;dr literally means "I didn't read this because I'm lazy", and thus can be taken as an insult. It shows a completely lack of care for what he person wrote, which in this case appears to be quite important to V.
And if you think that's an essay I got bad news for ya.
