The bowspam seems avoidable without the fishing rod. When the bowspam started failing he started rodspamming.Posted on 09 May 2015 - 07:08 AM
My suggestion is to make the rod like gapples were, where if one player does not have one, the other player has it removed / replaced with a potion. They may say that you are being outplayed if you don't bring a rod and a bow, but how are you being outplayed any more than if somebody brings a stack of gapples with them, camps the whole match, or even hacks? All three of those situations provide examples of 99% unwinnable situations, and if you are placed against a person who is even half-way decent at rod spamming, then you are in yet another, unwinnable situation. It's just a really poor example of skill and ruins the game for more than half of the Badlion community who took the time to vote. (about 6.4 thousand to the day)Bows are a part of minecraft pvp so they should not be removed. Rods on the other hand, were never designed to be used in the way Archy thinks they are. The only place I've seen rods used at all are in MCSG and UHC situations, not Kohi or SMP (vanilla). And yes, I've played minecraft, specifically minecraft pvp, for a long, long time.
One excuse I've heard about why I don't see rods in factions is that it is a new playstyle. Narwhal, a major offender of rod spamming has never played Kohi factions. Gaxriex, whom this thread is about, has never played Kohi factions. Tranquil has never played factions. Need I go on? They say that this is a practice server imitating realistic pvp situations, yet they fail to acknowledge the only place any of this happens is on their own servers.

I don't know how you can compare using a rod to being a hacker, like, really?
If it showed a lack of skill, we wouldn't be beating 2k+ players.
Does it matter what you think about whether or not Minecraft pvp needed a rod?
"Offender" - LOL
We don't need to play Kohi factions to have fun on the Kohi ladder.
You say they need to make it so our rods are replaced with pots if the other player doesn't have one. Does that mean if a player brings an extra speed or set of debuffs, is that
considered "unfair" and "unwinnable"?

the problem here is that MCSG skrubs are not using them to win, they are using them to be assholes and annoy the shit out of high elos. ( basically the whole UHC and MCSG community)Posted on 09 May 2015 - 09:01 AM
@Badware if you didn't know Tranquil is an alt of Narwhal, ahaPosted on 09 May 2015 - 09:03 AM

This is bound to make your reputation fall, this is just as pathetic as cheating. Also, they aren't really "mcsg scrubs" but they really shouldn't bring this to pot pvp ladders, stick with mcsg if you're wanting to rod/bow spam.

Fishing rods don't belong in kohi ladder, end of discussion. You can't have golden carrots but you can have a fucking knock back rod so people can run off your fire resistance?Posted on 09 May 2015 - 03:23 PM

I'm sitting here wondering how they have time to constantly have 10 minute kohi matches for a few rating points.. I understand its part of the game but its just patheticPosted on 10 May 2015 - 12:37 AM

considered "unfair" and "unwinnable"?
1. If you are fighting a hacker, you are in a 99% unwinnable situation. Same if you fight somebody who is even half way competent at bowing and rodding.
2. It shows a lack of skill in that you don't need to be good at melee, potting, or strafing (basically minecraft pvp lel). Beating 2k players who don't use the rod or bow is nothing to be proud of.
3. Maybe not, but 53% of the community does.
4. Kden.
5. That's not what I was getting at. I was addressing a point that some staff made saying that it was new pvp style, and that I would see it soon. I pointed out that most people who rod and bow don't even play Kohi.
6. As much as this is a valid point, there is nothing that you can do if somebody rods and bows, same as if somebody just rods and brings extra buffs. There is, however, something you can do if somebody brings extra debuffs, an extra set of buffs, or just a bow.
