Parents...
Okay guys, so whenever I try to stream or record on my SkillAuraOnly account, my parents come in my room, either demanding I help them with some obscure tech tool I have no knowledge about, getting mad and taking my computer away, or giving me a 5-30 minute lecture about how the game doesn't matter, or how I've disappointed them, etc. Why don't they get that it's important to me, it makes me happy, I can even make MONEY from doing it. I set time aside so I could even play the game, why should that be taken from me at a whim? Can you all help me..

My personal views
Hearing that makes me really sad. The reason why your parents are watching over you like is most likely because they've acknowledged that there isn't much time until college and want to spend time with you. You've got to stop thinking with the mentality that you're going to lose some burden when you go off to college and that you'll finally be free. Your parents are going to miss you — they already are. Spend time with them. Go outside more. You only have these few years left in your childhood, and your parents want to be there for as much of it as possible. When you're all grown up and out of college, you've already moved on. You can play all you want when you're single, then you'll move on with life. You'll look back, years from now, and think to yourself about how you missed out. And remember that you should always listen to your parents.

Anyways I agree with Morsinius, it's that you're almost to college and they're trying to spend more time with you. Your parents aren't bad, usually they're just wanting more attention before you go off to college

The thing that worries me, just like Morsinius, is that you view your parent as enemies. When I was in the beginning/middle of puberty I had these same thoughts.

Listening to them is a good thing. You could really learn something off those extra life years. They are here to help you. Sometimes it's best to leave comfortable places and do something new. Becoming is streamer and expecting to earn money is not a good idea. Only a very slim amount of the youtubers/streamers actually earn some coin with it. You'd be better off finding a job. Do you have one at the moment?

no, they don't want more attention from me, although I do appreciate your comments. all I asked for was a time from 7 to around 8 where I could play games, and even though they see me a lot anyways (don't have a great IRL social life).

How do I change that mindset though? Ididn't expect to earn money; I set up donations at the beginning as just to boost my professionalism. I don't have a job; I'm still too young to get one. How do you think I should leave my "comfortable places"
