Hi everyone, I'm gonna get a little personal here (without being stupid, of course.)So, about 6 months ago I was diagnosed with depression. I was devastated, even though I already knew that it was true. My psychiatrist and family were talking to me about how to cope with it, and they said to find something that makes you happy. I've always been a great runner, though I hadn't really pursued it before. Running calms me, it makes me happy, and gives me a purpose in my teenage life, besides school. It's difficult, and I usually hate the sport while I'm running, but always at the end I feel better, and that's what keeps me going. I feel that running (especially long distance) defines me. It's helped me stay calm and persistent, even through the darkest of times. Everything I hate about myself, my insecurities, sometimes even my actions, I feel have weakened in the past months.
So, I'm done with talking about myself. What do you guys do that you feel defines you, has shaped your personality, or is influential? If you can't think of one within a minute, I'd suggest looking for the opportunities around you. Try things you have no interest in. Try things you do have interest in. It will make you a happier, better person :)
(ps this is in the general discussion because minecraft is included in hobbies)

I read a lot, aside from computering. Reading calms me, and it's like you're in space when you get into a quiet room and get lost in a book. Loved reading ever since I was young.Posted on 19 May 2015 - 09:57 PM
@Thnk I agree with you :) There's nothing better than laying down at night and reading until you fall asleepPosted on 19 May 2015 - 10:02 PM

Thanks (well, not sure if it's something to be proud of.) I've always found golf to be interesting, but it costs a lot of $. I wish I could grind elo, but I'm really not very good..

I like to read, even if it's not always real books, I read the backs of containers and packages(not as fun as books though). Unlike the majority of my school, I read more than is actually required by my teachers. Sometimes I listen to music or some netflix show while I read, but a lot of times it kinda distracts me so I have to turn it off.I also camp the forums. 1k posts HYPEEEE :D

Never had depression, but IRL I'm extremely quiet and shy, so I would honestly say gaming and the internet in general as it has helped me make new friends and helped me through the day plenty of times.Posted on 19 May 2015 - 10:43 PM
