I don't think it's fair of you to pick on Squishay for this one occasion or anything; as far as I've seen, he's one of the more active moderators. But overall you're very correct. Badlion may have been able to pull off moderating with 50 half-active staff before, but with 5 kit servers and 3000 players on at any one time, it won't work out.
Just going to add on that some mods have to double/triple task between UHC, Badlion, and SG, so it's not easy when you're alone on the server. If anyone should know its me Q-Q

I always kicked mods who would do that because it's plain idiocity.

Not meaning to burst your bubble, but then some mods might just play on that account and not moderate. It would create more inactivity.
Also some mods aren't fortunate enough to have >1 account. There is no easy fix to this, we just have to chip in.
Well, if that was to happen, they should be demoted. You shouldn't be applying for staff just for a fancy tag and some cool permissions.
I agree with panda. If you're going to become a moderator, be a fucking moderator. Now, after saying that, I understand it's a game too and you should have time to play and have some fun along the way but as a moderator, your priorities should be to moderate the server most of the time. I hardly played on the servers. If I was online, I was moderating or at least interacting with the chat and helping fellow players. For me, personally, I decided to just not really play and I'd just have fun moderating. On the rare occasion I would play a UHC with some people but still, I moderated chat and interacted with everyone.
I think the point I'm tying to make is that if you're a moderator, you need to put the moderating priorities above playing priorities. If you're unable to do that, resign and just be a helpful member in the community.

Ok well if people were applying with the intention of helping the server then I think you should be just fine. Some people aren't fortunate enough to own more than one account, you're right; I guess they just can't apply. This would make it so whenever a mod is on his mod account, he was online to help, period.
Ok guys im getting demoted cause i cant afford myself an alt. Sorry all of you that are in the same situation as me, broken.

I don't agree that mods should need two different accounts just to be moderators.Posted on 22 May 2015 - 01:00 PM
I disagree as well because even if it's 2 difference accounts, the moderator still have the exact same issue, maturity, schoolwork, etc. So if they were doing exams for example and they bought a new account, that wouldn't automatically mean they are not doing exams anymore…Posted on 22 May 2015 - 01:34 PM
How hard is it to keep and eye on the chat while fighting? I do that almost every match I play.Posted on 22 May 2015 - 01:38 PM

You can't expect us to see everything. Even while I'm actively looking at chat, I miss stuff.

Some of us can get really focused to the point that you drown everything else out.

How about you throw 20+ active qualifying candidates towards ginie's email. Because most of our old player-base shows nothing but immaturity and toxicity, and our new player base doesn't know enough about the server to qualify either.EDIT: I'm not denying that our current staff isn't active enough/that we need more. I'm just saying it's quite hard to find qualified staff.

How about commands like /offduty for mods, this command would remove their names from the "Staff" part of the tab and put an "offduty" tag in front of their name in chat. You can even play around with this by limiting a staff member's off duty time daily/weekly and by comparing their off duty and on duty times to make sure they are not slacking. This would be much more restrictive you staff members though.Posted on 23 May 2015 - 06:47 AM

Completely agree with the off-duty part, except that they should still have a small responsibility to help out with chat [ChatMod] prefix? The on/off duty tracking thing is really unfair and somewhat "big brother." The staff are volunteers that have lives and play the game, and I sure as hell wouldn't want to be judged based on how much I play, as long as there are more mods online + I do an exemplary job when I'm actively modding
