Vanilla Tips

Also, I see people use splash pots to buff up. Is that a good idea? I'm used to drinking potions, but I havent tried using splash pots to buff

I use a combination, splash regen 1, splash fire res, drinkable speed 2 and strength 2. Best advice is to find your own style with vanilla. Basically everyone in vanilla has their own play style. For example I only use 1 poison but 2 weakness and 1 slowness.

Use the Strength + Poison 2 to your advantage. They'll be gone quickly if you put those to use.

Even tho I suck at vanilla

I feel like poison 1 is better than 2 because of the way it has the damage tick, but I will use these tips!

It's not the most graceful of ladders

The vanilla ladder is actually pretty easy if you can remember to pot in time- Due to the use of strength 2 you die pretty quickly, and armour breaking during fights is common. Just try to learn how to debuff well, because first of all you will not take as much damage (weakness potion) and secondly it will be harder for them to actually fight (slowness). The worst thing that can happen in vanilla is when your opponent has you on a fixed cycle- Potting, restocking then having to pot again due to them hitting you. To avoid this remember to restock quickly and NOT when they are hitting you, ender pearl away if necessary :)

I wouldn't. Because sometimes you may mess up and splash pot right in front of you, and your fire resistance will only be like 3 minutes lol.

I like to get combos and tap "s" to make sure they can't hit me. I do this while w tapping to give them more kb.

I would say if you're decent at Kohi than just practice landing your debuffs and learn to stay calm, and not panic. Like Jacob said it's important to stay alive, even if required to throw an extra healing pot.

Yo @frogmike I wanted to ask you some specific questions hahaha it's ok if you don't remember 100% but these are just some questions about when you were number 1 on vanill in season 2 with 2181 elo

First question - what debuffs did you bring?
Second question - how many buffs did you bring?
Third question - what was your play style? Crit, straightline, left and right strafes or circle?

Loool sorry for asking so specifically rippp

@frogmike ah yes and on a scale from 1-10 what would you rate the aggressiveness you played with

Well, back in my day, PvP was a lot different. Now'a'days, people use techniques like the infamous 'W tap' to gain a reach advantage over people.

First question - what debuffs did you bring?

I always brought two sets of debuffs, accompanied by a Poison 2 and two Regeneration 2s. I would always use the poison two defensively.

Second question - how many buffs did you bring?

I brought how many I always bring, 3 sets, but only two regeneration. No splash buffs.

Third question - what was your play style? Crit, straightline, left and right strafes or circle?

i don't know how to answer this question. I didn't do any of this, really. I wasn't dedicated to one strafe in particular. It was continuously switching up my strafe, and if one would fail I'd switch between two or three. However, something that I was noted for, is that I'd run a few blocks away and then come back to fight. (This wasn't to gain a reach advantage, not like walking backwards with 'S', a currently popular technique) I did that to prevent people from "comboing" me

6. I've fought you before when I played, I'm not sure if you recall. I played very defensively. For my own sake, I would always drink my next set of buffs 20-30 seconds prior to them running out

gotta go
