My strat for season 9 is to wait for 3 weeks before doing ranked then piss off the 1800's by grabbing ELO. Genius.Jk
But seriously I think it is a good idea to wait a few days before doing ranked as you will earn much more ELO and if you lose a match to a 1400 originally 2000 you will lose more ELO than necessary :)

If you're a non-donor it gives you a nice set up, as you can easily get through into 1600-1700s.
