Why do people trash talk?

Whenever anyone is on badlion, they see lots of trash talk. I want to know why people feel the need to trash talk. It isn't proving anything. It's not making you a better person. If anything, its making yourself look foolish. Can someone here answer the question: Why do people trash talk?

Okay. So lately people have been making threads like these like very often. I don't exactly know what you hope to accomplish with making posts like this one, but it won't stop trash talking. I guarantee nobody reads this post and goes "Wow I'm going to change my ways, I'm going to be a better person and never trash talk again". Posts like these are pointless, if you're trying to gain respect by making them by hinting that you yourself are a perfect person that doesn't trash talk, well it's not working. But please, this is the 4th post this week like this, and not the first one made by you either. ._. I guess you have the freedom of speech to make posts like these, so people have the right to trash talk(to a degree)
