This nonsense with the confederate flag is getting annoying. It has no general meaning. People have decided that the flag must manifest the beliefs of it's former holders, is all. We're lucky in the UK that even the right wing (on the most part) support marriage equality even though it's not a vote winner for the elderly + homophobic folks.
