Skywars is coming to Badlion
/swparty , /sw duel , I would rather not use lobbys like sg, I think the ender portal would be better than just lobbies.

HELL YEA :DD.

From my experience 16 and 32 players maps are great, they are not that long, and regarding camping they are also nice. I've also played many 64 players maps, i do like them but camping becomes a problem, you'd have to go island by island looking for players, underground, skybases… It becomes kinda tiring. And 128 players would be pretty much the same fun but tiring if you find many campers. 8 players map, if skywars here turns out to be successful, are useless imo. If the playerbase isn't decent then yea we could implement them, but they're really small.

I believe 16 players games are not big enough to make it a toX game, but higher like 32 could work. I have played skywars with friends and it's quite fun. We'd also have to implement the teaming rule here lol.

A way of preventing camping could be kind of a border shrink as UHC but with islands. In a 64 players map, there'd be 64 islands (starter), then 32 islands closer to the centre, then 16 , 8, and finally 1 which would be the centre and where the final fight could take place. After x time you are not allowed to be in the first 64, after x in the 32 and so on. You'd also have to include a border to stop people from bridging back. I see ups and dows with this system, but with some discussion we may be able to optimize it.

About kits, i personally like cubecraft's way. Everyone starts with nothing unless you choose a kit. There are free kits that you have access to from the very beginning, but in order to get the rest, you need points. You get these points by killing people and winning games, at least when i played it was this way, could of changed. The more you play, the more points you have, the better kits you have. (Donators could get point multipliers)

In addition to this, i'd make these few free kits change every week, just like the heroes you have access to without paying in games like HotS, i believe it will be better for everyone plus you can actually test kits before buying one. We'd have to discuss how kits are though, i remember back when i played skywars everyone got the tank kit (full iron armor) because it clearly outweighed the others, we should avoid that.

Someone mentioned overpowered players should play on different games, i hate that idea. We could on the other hand make skywars gamemodes, you'd choose by voting. There could be 3 or 4, easy, normal, hard and overpowered. In cubecraft these would affect chests' loot, but i believe it should also change kits. Builder kit (16 blocks iirc) in an overpowered game (there were punch III bows and arrows in the chests so you'd shoot people off in 3 seconds) was pointless ._. So kits in easy would be different from normal kits, hard kits and op kits. Everyone would be able to have the experience everyone is able to have, that's the point.

I'm looking forward to this, can see some skywars tourneys taking place :o. Hype!

HattoWolf, arguably one of the best players in Minecraft ever got to the top 10 slots on his main and all of his alts not using any form of Donator. If you are really that good you can get to rank #1 in 200-300 games. (Don't forget you get 10 + 10 + 20 a day if you vote and /register)

I think it should be 16 player games 32 player games and 80 player matches, To high players will kill 50% of the people FPS. Also you should put in a ranking system, so you can go on forums and check who has most Kills/Deaths/KDR, Like the UHC Statistics.

Let me rephrase the whole "arena p2w". Its more like p2p because its a guaranteed that you have infinite matches. I just went on an alt asking for matches and I was unsuccessful. I guess its not really p2w but it definitely increases your chances of getting a higher elo if you are a skilled player

I think that 16-32 player games would be the way to go player wise. Also, I think that there shouldn't be kits. You should have to gain all your loot from chests and kills.

Hey guys! I love Skywars, it's my favorite game, and I have a lot of experience with it, so I hope you guys read this post carefully and reply:
So the basic things that should be implemented in this game are:
-Mods:
The first mod is op items and the second one is normal where the player chooses which one he likes to play.
-Score/coins:
You can guys make the scores like +50$ for winning a game and +10$ for killing one and it can be shown in chat next to the player's name like (+3495$)[D]SexyPro: hi. And no need to make it as an Elo System like the other ladders, it can be like other Skywars servers (losing -1$ for a loss/death).
-Some good skywars:
I got a lot of experience on many different servers and i found that Ultra Skywars is the best skywars mod, you can guys go check it on YouTube. Personally i like the Arkham Network's Ultra Skywars the most cause its really very fun :D
-Maps:
Making the 128 player is good idea but you need to make the map shrink after certain time cause the game with campers and specially on this big number of players will take a very long time, so shrinking will be good only on maps 128 players and 32 players.
-Stats:
Making /stats command showing you your kills, deaths, wins, loses, and your points is very good idea since so many players care about their stats and would like to see them in-game rather than going to their profile.
-Teams/ffa:
Putting teams will get you many players since there are a lot of players who team in this game, so you can make the 16 map player (2 players on one team so it will be 2v2v2v2v2v2v2v2 or 8v8 or ffa, and players can choose their teammates like using /party invite)
-kits:
kits is common idea on all servers, you can add kits but into 2 categories the free kits for donor either loin or normal donator cause if the server is pay to win then no one will like it, by the way kits for group donators will be the same as the non donors but the difference is that the donors get this kits for free and the non donors have to pay game coins so everyone can play with kits, and it is better that the kits only give slight advantages in the normal mod and a good advantage in the OP mod.
-Signs:
Sign are better than ender portal since you can know which map you will play or you can know how many players left and stuff like these.

@MasterGberry The solution to camping would be a map crumble where the map starts falling apart after a certain amount of time like in mineplex.

I would also suggest 128 player maps to be hosted like UHC's because after a while like on alll servers, they won't get as much players after the start and a elo system would be good too.

To make the skywars unique, add duels, the abality to make clans and duel opposite clans within the game, add an xp system which gets you a prefix and have something op in the middle to encourage the reduction of camping e.g a set of iron armour with a sharpness one diamond sword.

please dont add a progression system, one of the great things about badlion is that everyone is equal, no matter what, and you can just jump in to any game and have it an even playing field

8 player Map will be fine for a cutclean fast skywar game not to big map though, 16 player map can also be done solo since it won't be much of the problem, anything higher will take alot of time for players to join which will cut the interest of players to play who are waiting in the queue.

A point system maybe like elo? which can be displayed right before their name, or maybe ranks for points level.
Nothing should be given in the beginning, i.e everything can be taken only from chest or by killing others.

8 player maps: Yeah, pretty good idea.
16 p. maps: nah, 12 is better imo.

Arena's are up to you guys. Badlion has done great with arena and sg maps in the past and I have faith you will do well with these also.

As for player count? 16v16, 24v24, and 32v32. Now, here is where it gets interesting; maybe incorporate a ranked ELO system into it and have teams of 4 battle it out for a spot on the leader boards (Clan idea maybe? :3).

Lastly, we have kits. Remembering not to make them too over powered, but possibly adding a certain enchantment or one piece of better armor isn't game breaking. This could be obtained after getting 5 kills, 15 kills, 30, 50… so on. Each benchmark kill you will receive said bonus next time you respawn and it will last the rest of the game.

Suggestions:

NO kits, 0 KITS but PERKS should be added! and each kill you get, you get 10 tokens which can go to the perks you can buy, I dont know any perks because I have no ideas :P

and random starting items that aren't op but can help you get started to get stuff, everyone gets same items each game or maybe even donors get a chance to get different items if they are not what they want? Like re-roll their items.

Snowballs and eggs should be limited, it is extremely op in hypixel skywars, and many other servers that have skywars

Diamond armor should be rare, not unfindable but rare and iron should be a little bit more common but still a little rare.

Potions should be only like slowness and poison for lower seconds then usual.

Perks should only be like every 5 kills you get x2 Tokens for the next game you play or someting like that and obviously more than that but yea, no custom items that you get from purchasing perks.

these are all ideas, you can do wahtever you want, ill probs like it :P

I have pretty mixed feelings about alot of this. I love playing skywars and I agree that Hypixel is the dominate server, and honestly I think that incorporating some of the ideas is best, but put that original badlion twist onto it.

Kits:
I don't really like the idea of unlocking kits through kills because as players get more OP, it will get harder for the "newer" players to rank up and get those kits. Imo, I think that it should be more of a lottery random system for unlocking kits. Through winning and kills, you can unlock crates and get a variety of rewards, whether it be double points, kits, or some other incentive. I think this is the best way to go at it.

Maps:
I have great faith that the maps will be awesome like usual. I think that 16/32/128 players in various types would be good. All being offered in FFA and To2. I think that the shrinking/crumbling maps to stop camping is a great idea.

Gamemodes:
I also think that it would be fun to bring in the Normal and also OP modes. I enjoy playing both, and when things get boring, I switch to OP mode to just have a bit of fun. It allows the people that want a more OP skywars to get it, and the people that want the normal skywars to be happy also.

I would like to badlion to stay away from p2w as it always has, but possibly add a little SLIGHT advantage to donators whether it be spawning with starter tools or something small like that.

Good luck on the coding and programming on the skywars and am really excited to see this brought to badlion!
