I feel like xraying isn't punished harshly enough purely because you can alt without punishment. It doesn't particularly discourage it when people know they can just use it for as long as they like until they get banned and then go onto another account and play another game like nothing ever happened. Plus most people who get banned just carry on using it anyway, just make it a lot less obvious that they are. You get so used to using it, and it feels odd not using it so people just carry on afterwards anyway (speaking from experience as I used to on eximius over a year ago, I got caught and carried on with it anyway until the second time I got caught 3 months later)I think temp IP banning (so there is no possibility of alting) would be a lot better of a punishment, and would definitely discourage xraying significantly more than the current system. If you knew you'd get banned completely off the server for a month, you'd definitely be a lot more afraid of using it.
Obviously I don't run a server, so I do not know if this is a possibility that you can temp ban an IP for a set period of time rather than have to ban it and then unban.

most people can change there ip's so they will just carry on playing and the new uhc update has made it so much more obvious if a person xrays or not as there are hardly any diamonds in the mapPosted on 26 July 2015 - 01:42 AM
I doubt people would change their IP just for a temp ban as I doubt it's that easy to do.Posted on 26 July 2015 - 03:26 AM
What if it's a false ban for X-ray and they need to /register [email] to make an account so they can appeal though?Posted on 26 July 2015 - 08:57 PM
Yeah that's understandable. I didn't really consider that. Maybe do like 5 days to appeal with no IP ban and then an IP ban for 25 days if they were found guilty or if they did not appeal.Posted on 26 July 2015 - 10:54 PM
You can still log into the lobby even when banned to /register but hopefully most people already have an account.Posted on 28 July 2015 - 01:34 PM

Half of the " good players " have gotten banned once or twice for xray, they carry on playing half an hour later without even giving two shits i think this is realy stupid tbh… i bet half of them says they stopped xray but instead just does it a little more carefully, i think that if there is evidence towards a player ban evading, they should get banned……Posted on 29 July 2015 - 10:49 PM
Exactly wintex which is why I think temp IP banning people so they can't alt would discourage xraying massively. Not playing on the server for a month should teach most people their lesson. I can tell you that 99% of people won't stop after the first time being caught, they'll just be more careful as you said.Posted on 30 July 2015 - 09:58 AM

I think you can join and be in hub, when you're ip banned, it just means that you can't join the other servers on any account
Edit : Nvm you can't join the server at all
