So this post is basically going to explain why using /report is better then a lot of other methods, and why it should be the only method used. For starters I understand where you guys are coming from as a few of these things I use to do before I was mod. There's been a lot of complaints about staff lately, and hopefully this will clear a few things up.What /report does: When you use the command /report it is broadcasted to all current staff online.
Players tend to single out mods and PM them "TP TP TP TP TP", this is the wrong thing to do: Mods are players too, we like to enjoy the game just as much as you do, we sacrifice many hours moderating the server, and we enjoy taking breaks and playing as well. When you single out a mod it's like playing spin the bottle as to which one is on duty. And if you get one that is on duty, they could very well be busy investigating someone else. Although unfortunate we can't instantly jump on every hacker report. We get hundreds every hour.
Why hackusating is the wrong thing to do and also illegal: When a player hackusates it makes our jobs a lot harder.
Although some hackers don't care if people know, most will try to hide the fact they are hacking. If you start accusing them of hacks they are going to turn them off, ultimately making it harder to catch them. Players tend to spam in chat "MOD TP" this is also a form of hackusating, as the person you are fighting knows very well why you want a mod to TP. Another misconception is that we can tp to you then ban the hacker and save your elo. WRONG! We mods are not allowed to ban during ranked matches. In the event that we are wrong and we ban a legit player that we have mistaken to be hacking, we cannot recover their elo. Although this argument could go both ways saying why should the legit person have to lose elo to a hacker. It is actually better to let the match run it's course because if we do ban mid match we can actually trap you in the match causing glitches and other problems, including loss of your elo.
/report now travels through all Badlion servers. So if you're on Soup and see no staff online you can still use /report as the staff on Potion pvp and Factions will see it.

Sadly, most of the player base do not bother to ever read the forums, and some don't even know it exists!Posted on 25 May 2014 - 04:01 AM
