So I wanted to make a quick announcement/explanation of our intended plans with Minecraft 1.9. Please note that these plans might change as we get closer to the launch of 1.9 depending on what changes with Mojang. At the moment here is our plan:
A brief explanation.
1.7 and 1.8 clients will still be able to play with each other like you currently can.
1.9 clients will not be able to play with 1.7/1.8 clients.
When you connect to the server you will be forced onto a 1.9 or a 1.7/1.8 lobby depending on your game version. If you are on a 1.9 client and want to play on the 1.7 ArenaPvP server you have to change versions and then re-connect.
This will keep a "classic PvP" environment for the 1.7/1.8 players and allow players to try out the new style of PvP as well.
We will keep the 1.7/1.8 servers running as long as we have enough players to do so. If eventually (and this is usually the trend) most people switch to 1.9 (like 90%) we will at that point close the 1.7/1.8 servers. Until this point we will keep both sets of servers running when we can get the 1.9 stuff up and running.

I would absolutely love to see a retro server like version 1.2Benefits:
-Few to none ghost clients
-No sprint key(it might not be a benefit to you)
-No togglesneak/bettersprint mod for 1.2
-nostalgia

This means moderators will have to take care of both servers, 1.7/1.8 and 1.9. This means that in those moments when you are all alone you will have tons of fun changing versions in order to keep an eye on the whole server (I'm 100% sure we'll all do this and none will be too lazy. /sarcasm)Posted on 31 July 2015 - 12:56 PM
