It doesn't matter what you actually said, the intended meaning is still clear.If I came up to somebody with the intent to be incredibly derogatory, it doesn't become okay just because I change a letter or two. They still know what it meant, and they will feel the same about what I said regardless.
Words don't hurt people on their own, and it's really silly to treat it so black and white like that. Language is all about context, and ultimately, if you have any reason to believe the person you are speaking with may be offended by what you want to say, don't say it. It's that simple.
