UHC Game Times
Posted on 13 August 2015 - 02:20 PM
This thread is long way over due and should've done it earlier, but I have been lazy etc.Anyways, a few weeks, maybe a couple months (can't remember), there have been changes to times of the UHCs. Here are my thoughts on them and I am sure many other people share the same opinion:
Pros:
Able to play the really early morning game at 7am, as I normally get up then (I guess I am a morning perosn xD).
Longer times betweem games meaning you can maybe take a break inbetween or prepare better for them etc.
The 4pm game means I can play UHC when I come back from school
The 1:30pm game means I can play UHC after I normally have lunch.
EU games go on to 11:30pm, which is longer than before, although I rarely play at that time.
Cons:
Rarely able to play 6:30pm game(s) because I am having dinner at that time.
We miss out the 5pm EU game. The EU games used to be at 1pm, 3pm, 5pm, 7pm, 9pm. However, the 11:30pm game replaced the 5pm game. In my opinion, more people would play the 5pm game than the 11:30pm game because it's a peak time for EU. In addition, I heard Archy say on his stream that EU games shouldn't be running then because of lag or something.
Longer time between games can also mean that there is a long wait for people till the next game if they die early.
Lots of games at the same time, making it easy for non-donors to get in. (Peak times).
With a problem, you have to have a solution, so here is my solution:
Make it so hosts can choose anytime they want to host a game, don't make them stick to a specific schedule.
This will give more people a chance to play at a time that suits them best. However, make sure there is an equal amount of team game and FFAs. As well as this, make sure hosts put up their game on the website at least half an hour before the game starts, so people have time to look at the website and see what games are on.
Feel free to ask questions etc. if you don't understand. I am aware that Slutty is on LOA, so don't expect any major changes soon, but hopefully in the forseeable future.
Thank you for reading this thread :)

Oh yes should've pointed that out, I'm in BSTPosted on 15 August 2015 - 10:11 PM
I understand where you're coming from and as being an EU host (in BST) I too struggle to host/play 6:30pm games. However, making it so staff could add games whenever would make it very messy. Only 3 games can be hosted at a given time, therefore games can't over lap and start a various times. So making a schedule ensures that we can provide as many games high quality (lag free) games across all regions.6:30pm games are some of many games across the day in the EU region. Hopefully you can play at least 2 or 3 other games throughout the day.
Hopefully this helps:)

Nah sweats like me eat dinner in their room #TRYHARDLIFEPosted on 19 August 2015 - 02:06 PM
My parents wouldn't allow me lol @NoReachhHowever, when school comes back around I should be able to play more games during the week cos I have dinner earlier, so yeah. Btw, keep the 4pm game cos I can come home and play UHC practically straight away.
@IEllieI yeah I understand, I see Badlion has a schedule and I guess that works best for them. Thanks for the help
