So every player that has over 2000 elo knows the struggle. If you kill lets say a 1600, you get about 4-5 elo. If you die you lose 32. Even if you fight them 4 times in a row, and only lose the last one, you lose more elo than you could have gotten.
I really have only played Kohi once or twice, but their elo system seems pretty nice. You can only go against players in your elo range in ranked fights. If no players are found then the range expands.
This would make getting higher elo easier, and obtaining it harder.

I think Kohi's elo system is more accurate, but there are already a lot of very minimally played ladders, and getting into a game would take VERY long if u have high elo. Also this was already suggested multiple times and was in effect at one point but eventually was taken out because everyone kept complaining about not being able to get into games.Posted on 15 August 2015 - 04:17 AM

I remember when they did the point system. Come to think about it, it probably isn't the best idea to bring it back, but maybe fix the elo loss ratio?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elo_rating_system This is how the elo rating system works, it's supposed to be like that. If a 2000 can't beat a 1600, it's their problem in my opinion ( unless they lag out, or are lagging fps and server wise). Point system would just make people wait a lot. Also, in my opinion, playing with better players slowly makes you a better player.

@riioo Am I stupid for not knowing that Elo is used in other things than Minecraft o.oPosted on 15 August 2015 - 07:04 PM
@riioo I agree that it does, but sometimes the other player is on an alt. I.E: I got an alt with 1400 in all ladders, and within 2 hours, I had 2.1k in BuildUHC.Posted on 16 August 2015 - 12:55 PM
