Here's a issue many are encountering on factions:Repairing your armor is DAMN TO TIME CONSUMING/EXPENSIVE!
An example: I had a P4 Chestplate, with about 1/4 of its durability remaining. I figured to not risk it breaking in PVP so I decided to 'attempt' repairing it. I go to the anvil at my faction home, plop in the Chestplate and a diamond… Guess what it said? WAY TO EXPENSIVE TO REPAIR (At level 30) So after troubleshooting, I figured perhaps level 35 would be enough. Repeated the process: WAY TO EXPENSIVE TO REPAIR. I thought to myself, what the hell…? I had spent about an hour mining to get to level 35 (not the easiest task while strip mining). So I gave it one more shot, got to level 39: WAY TO EXPENSIVE! I said, enough is enough and put the chestplate back in my faction home and wasted the levels elsewhere. I want to know why I should have to grind to level god knows what (probably mid 40s) just to repair my P4 chestplate to only half durability? Don't you find that a bit ridiculous (yes, I realize this is a part of vanilla minecraft but, this isn't a vanilla server)?
As most of you know, this server has been popularized because of it's ability to offer a intensive, competitive, and overall fun PVP experience. With your server's population at is current pinnacle, don't you believe increasing & maintaining this PVP atmosphere is appropriate? By players having to grind to the 30s/40s/50s levels, don't you believe that will suck time out of the PVP this server is so famous for? Instead of players risking their P4, they're going to be spending all of their time grinding to ******* fix it!
Look, this server is great as it is, don't get me wrong. I'm just trying to offer an option to increase player count and fun of the server. NO ONE likes to spend time at the grinder just to fix their gear (especially with the ridiculous exp. prices implemented by Mojang). Here is my proposed solution: Repair signs! This method has been replicated and augmented throughout the history of minecraft servers (most servers who have this option are quite successful). By implementing repair signs, not only will it stimulate the economy (by making money more valuable & desired) it would also let players focus on what they care for, raiding and pvping! You can set up a repair sign @ the shop for 5k a piece of armor/tool. Think this is too expensive? Make it a donator feature (perhaps Musketeer+) in a 'donator shop' where items are half off; you can put the sign there for 2.5k a piece of armor/tool.
I hope you take this suggestion into consideration, I'm not here to bash anyone just giving my opinion… Feel free to post yours below!
Thanks!

I manage to repair prot 4 Unbreaking 3 armor pieces for cheaper than 40 levels per diamond…. And the grind to level 35-40 only takes about 5 minutes if you have a good grinder. Regardless, you have some good points. I think the signs is an interesting idea….Posted on 03 June 2014 - 11:48 PM
@JacobArnoldNot sure I think my chest had thorns + unbreaking on it, maybe that's why it was asking for so many levels? Regardless (like you said), I think this would be a great addition because it would let players focus more on PVP and less on grinding (even with a good grinder its annoying)…
Thanks for your opinion ^.^

Dont ever use thorns, breaks armor way faster, and basically unrepairable

@SpartanXboxI usually don't, only P4 chest I had though… :/
We should still implement repair signs!

Personally I love this idea +1. Me and I_pot grew up from the same backround and he's just trying to say that the server we played on was truly amazing. Repair signs are an amazing addition. + more advertising. Factions already has lost quite a bit of it's player base.@MasterGberry
Not advertising like spamming the ip, i mean by paying a website money to advertise it.

@ComboDombo suggestions for advertising? I'm down to do it, but I want the money for advertising to be spent well and to produce results. I've heard mixed things about the Minecraft Server Listing websites.Posted on 04 June 2014 - 05:25 AM

SeverePvP paid I believe 2000$ for an eight hour slot on minecraft servers front page. Look, at their prime they now have 70 players. I wouldn't advise it.

@frogmike @MasterGberry On Minestatus you can advertise for a two week top slot for around $2500

@MasterGberry when i was moderator on some faction server, the owner was freinds with the owner of JuJuCraft. he gave us an effective adverting spot called "project wonderful" and that gave us 70 players from our usual 2-6. you should invest in that.btw it's $100 an hour, but it's very effective. we could no longer afford it but badlion has loads of donations coming through right?

What site, and did 70 players join? Or did they stay on the server? @cringiecake

@cringiecakeGreat idea, I have recommended Project Wonderful to @MasterGberry before, I hope he goes for it!
@Everyone
Let's try to stay on the topic of repair signs please, I do however, appreciate all of your input regarding the server ^.^

70 players joined, but we lost them after the owner resigned and gave it to an admin. but they did stay for a while. dude you have my enjin, i think it is one of them OR i left that community (i resigned as mod). the site is "project wonderful" or some shit like that. http://minecraftservers.org/ the spot was on the top of that page. and the link to the advertisement is :https://www.projectwonderful.com/advertisehere.php?id=65015&type=5it works in a bid system i think (not too sure jujucraftserver set it up for us) @2013Cape

Eh, the Project Wonderful this is kind of skeptical, because a lot of people have adblock on (myself included on certain sites). The other thing i was advised was to try and contact some youtubers, although I have no idea who I would get in touch with.Posted on 04 June 2014 - 08:37 PM
i shall create a new thread for advertising matters, lets respect I_Pot_You_Drop's by discussing this not on his threadPosted on 06 June 2014 - 05:45 AM
I can ask some friends that have lots of subs to make videos, but I can't promise they'll actually do anything.Posted on 21 June 2014 - 02:59 PM
bump, as 75% of this thread has been about advertising not repair signs
