Lava buckets (Reposted in correct section)
Lava on BuildUHC is glitched,It sometimes places sometimes doesn't and also places on the wrong block and flickers. I know that this has been addressed, but is there actually a fix? (Posted before but in the wrong forum section)

Might just be a client side visual glitch. Can you give examples on what you can place them on that causes it to flicker?

@MasterGberry This is just a visual glitch right?

When you try and 360 lava bucket[Edit: Running], right click at 180 and most of the times…. It wont place!

I think this would be a client issue?

This is simply latency as far as I can tell. My ping to the server is > 100, and I also experience it. It makes using lava buckets in BuildUHC near impossible for me.

It seems that it happens when you move your mouse too quickly away from the block you wish to place the lava on. The instant you click, the client shows you placing lava on the appropriate block. However, if you moved your mouse to be aiming a few blocks away too quickly, the server will think you wanted it placed there instead, and when sending this information to the client, the client corrects the error, causing the original placement to flicker and disappear, only for the real one to appear nearby.
Edit: Just tested in game, slight flaw in what I originally said. What happens is when you right click, it places the lava bucket originally where you are looking, client side. When it corrects itself, it places it where you were looking earlier. In other words, with 100ms ping, it places the lava bucket where you were presumably looking 100ms prior to right clicking. Still a problem, regardless.

As my ping is at least 100 at all times, this means I have to either look at the block for a whole tenth of a second to place it correctly, or attempt to place the bucket one tenth of a second ahead of time and adjust just as it places after I aimed where I wanted it to go, which is just crazy to try to compensate for. Endlessly frustrating for me, making it feel near impossible to properly use lava buckets, because I cannot afford to walk backwards like that for so long, and I literally cannot use lava in very many other ways as a result. (Getting knocked back while placing it is often a disaster, so I cannot reliably place lava within melee range, for instance.)

What's crazy about this issue to me is that I never recall having the same problem with blocks or the MCSG ladder's FnS. Does bucket placement work differently? What's going on there?
I can deal with waiting a tenth of a second for the thing I place to visually appear, but when it starts jumping from location to location and actually requiring me to look at the spot for 100ms, it becomes unbearable to work with. (Worth noting that I have similar problems picking up water buckets, even in actual UHC's. I'll often see ghost water or my client thinks it picked up a water bucket when it didn't. Gotten me killed a couple times before.)

Can anyone with high ping confirm this for me? Admittedly been a little while since I last actively played. Just went in game. Just go to a location you have bad ping to, spin around a little and place a lava bucket. You'll see what he's talking about.

Edit 2: Here's a demonstration of the bug on video:

The thing is my ping to EU is 14 -16 which is above average. I've also seen this on people's streams such as Mentally's and he has about 13 ping. As seen in g33ke's video is that if I place it on one block, it will move to the other - rendering it useless because it doesn't hit the player. Secondly, occasionally I will place the lava and it will stay in source form, and if I walk into it, it shows the fire but doesn't do damage. The lava also takes a second to register, so when 180ing to get someone in lava, it often places behind the player.
I am almost 100% sure this is not client side. @SmellyPenguin @MasterGberry
@G33ke I went in a duel and it happens even when only turning a slight bit. Ping doesn't affect this from what I've seen.

Oh, really? That was my assumption because of my below average ping.
I see some people not having a problem with using lava, so I was under the assumption it didn't effect everyone, thus it might be because of my higher ping, but if even 10-20 ping has the problem, then that's different. I can't imagine what might be causing it, though…

Pretty sure fire damage is client side based on positions and server synchronization

@MasterGberry
The glitched lava only happens occasionally, - (but I've seen it on CamsArcade and Mentally's streams, so it's not just me). Could be clientside, I don't know. The main problem is what g33ke showed in his video, which happens every time. I should hopefully be able to record this soon so it's easier to explain :)

Well off hand I can say we dont do anything with fire ticking.

If you want to try and reproduce this on other servers it would be appreciated.

Preferably 1.7.10 servers

I get 20-30 ping and this happens to me whenever I spin really fast like in g33ke's video.

i get 40 ping and it does this all the time to me

@MasterGberry Finally got this recorded. It's weird, this glitch.
And yes, on the last bit where we are recording him walking slower at the same time as me, I am walking on the same block as him, just on the side.
There is a bit before that which shows I walk through it fine.
