Higher Punishment for Teaming in FFA
(Similar thread with the same suggestion here)

Greetings,
I am a hunter of rule breakers such as teamers or hackers. On my YouTube channel I had over 30 videos of teamers recorded. I stopped making the videos as I got told about them and their punishments, which I am suggesting to slightly change.

I am writing this thread since teaming in the FFA worlds and events has increased by a lot recently. Currently you get warned -> kicked -> banned for 3 days. You cannot report teamers in here, on the forums, only ingame when both teamers and moderators are online. That means that when there is no staff online, you can team as much as you want and you will never find yourself punished. Months ago it was okay when there were fewer players generally, when there was roughly 1, 2 or 3 teams at most (usually), moderators had enough time to warn and kick them. Nowadays there are more players - more teams, more trash talk in the chat and more hackers. Warning and kicking can take the mods a lot of time as the teamers are great ignorants and mods are kind and warn them for about a minute - they will have less time for punishing other chat offenders, hackers etc.

The statement “teaming is not allowed in FFA” is basically written everywhere. Every FFA’s spawn has signs which either say “TEAMING IS NOT ALLOWED IN THE FFA WORLDS” or “Teaming is strictly prohibited in all FFA worlds” 4 times. Kick is not a punishment for something what is “strictly prohibited” in my opinion. “FFA” stands for “free for all”, so I guess everyone understands that teaming is not allowed.
(EDIT: Ylijumala's idea to improve the warning is to give you an easily notifiable message in the chat to warn you.)

I do not think the teamers deserve another warning after a warning already written on the signs. They do not get warning for skybasing nor hacking, why should they get a warning for this? Skybasing ruins a 1 match, a few people, teaming in FFA does that to a way more players, yet has a lower punishment. Match (with skybasers) takes a few minutes, they will not resist for much time, yet FFA is 24/7… Here is an example of what I mean. This huge team resisted for tens of minutes and ruined the joy for many players.

I think we have become too soft on any rule breakers in general. There are rules, there are warnings (by warnings I mean e.g. the sings which tell you not to team or messages that tell you not to skyabse), they did see them, yet regardless they do not obey them.

The punishment for teaming in FFA is a kick? Clearly it's not harsh enough as people still do it a lot. It's just as bad and just as unfair and annoying.

Part of the idea is to make reporting teaming via forums valid. It will bring fewer teamers and of course would make more players enjoy the FFA. The main reason for accepting it in the future is that even when you tell the people NOT to report the teamers (on the forums), they will do it anyway, they will do it anyway with incorrect format, they will do it anyway putting it into an incorrect subforum, they will do it anyway in 1st person mode… and that is complete waste of staff's time. Instead of explaining them why this is not acceptable they should make it acceptable. And also, teamers could finally be punished even if there is no staff online.

So basically currently teamers ignore the rules, simultaneously though, the victims of the teamers do something similar as they complain in the global chat, report incorrectly. If you increase the punishment I assume that both the sides will stop doing what they are doing. An instant ban will most likely make the teamers never team again.

My suggestion: Punishment for (Blatant) Teaming in FFA Worlds and FFA Events - (Instant) 3 day ban (without warning) and allow reporting teamers on the forums

Pros:
-Fewer teams (obviously)
-More time for moderators to take care of other stuff since they do not have to spend time warning the players and so on
-Cleaner chat (fewer complaints about teaming in FFA) (, not anymore?)
-Happier players (Basically mentioned in the point above)
-More actual players in the FFAs as I see many players leaving just due to the teamers
Please write down any other possible pros you can think of, thanks.

Cons:
I cannot think of any, feel free to post down below.

Thank you for spending your time in reading this, please take this into consideration. Have a g’day.

Most people I kick for a warning never cause any more bother for me, they learn from a kick. Only a minority actually repeat offend straight after, and they get banned. Even fewer get banned twice (I've only ever seen this happen twice), so I feel the current system works.

+1, almost every time I play a uhc meetup I wind up with no kills or healing in top 5, because a team will target me for 5 minutes straight, drain me healing and won't let me get kills.

Getting killed by a team when you have full iron and a diamond sword (and a 40 killstreak) is the worst feeling ever

+1 I hate being full iron and diamond sword then finding myself being targeted by a two team and the others trying to clean me up.

1+ the current system is not the best. I totally agree what u say. U put alot of time to this format so this should be accepted. Like before i played alot ffa but now i dont because the teaming is 24/7. like if they get kicked they repeat the teaming over and over again its annoying. But the worst thing is that they so it while no staff is on. Soo plss consider this post mods. This is smart and why the heck is not this guy a mod. Just look at all the reports he's done and i see him everyday on the fourums. Like this guy spends most of his playing time catching hackers and teamers. He puts way more work than other mods just look how long this post is. so plss accept this it will be easier for u mods to do other things. Many 1+

I agree, with one condition. The players would have to recieve (a) chat warning(s) about teaming and its consequences (similar to the warning when one joins a Build UHC match, or the warning that was given in Ranked SG when it still was a thing). I don't think the signs are a good enough warning on their own.
