Basic image guide on the forums
Last edited on 16 March 2016 - 01:11 PM by TeracerusDear comrades,
If you are struggling to insert an image on the forums (and the results are like ) or to open an unloaded image, please follow this guide (or simply read through the posts in this thread). I'll try to put some images or videos here later to make this easier to understand/follow.
I. How to post an image
1. Upload your image to an online uploader like imgur. You can take screenshots using free applications like lightshot or gyazo. (This means that if you want to make your Minecraft screnshots public [maybe some chat offences you want to report], pasting the screenshot name won't do anything – do what the tutorial says.)
2. When your image is uploaded, do what I showed in that video (will give the link later) (right click it, open in new tab). It should send you to a link with the image only. Look at the URL it shows you and if it hasn't got an extension yet, add it. It can be ".png", ".jpg" and so on. The link should also include a "prefix" indicating that we're really talking about images here; in imgur it's "i." The link should look like "https://i.imgur.com//9anCrEL.png" (Note: Some features depend on the image uploader. Don't worry though, simply "right clicking it, opening in new tab" will always give you the link you need)
3. In your forum post surround that link with and . If you think you could mess that up, use 4th button in the edit post bar and paste there the image link ().
II. How to open unloaded images
1. Right click the unloaded image and click “open image in new tab”.
Thanks for paying attention, I hope this will make reporting players, posting hilarious jokes etc. more comfortable for you. Have a g'day comrades.
